I was at a stop light on the way home from Lowe's listening to that game on SiriusXM when that happened. I burst out laughing and honked my horn about 10 times.
Our cable TV was out that day ( fuck Spectrum) but the internet was still working. I was trying to follow a bunch of games on streams and actually just missed seeing that as it happened. I saw all the posts all over the internet about it, and when I saw the replay shortly afterwards I lost it. That one play gave us some of the best "sad scUM fans" memes of all time, including the video of the mook crying in the stands.

It gave us the G.O.A.T.

For anyone looking for some comedy, BTN right now is showing the "WOAH! He has trouble with the snap!" game. A true thing of beauty.

Yep, just watched the last 5 minutes of that, it never gets old.

It’s made all the better by seeing the ball snapped to Rudock on third down with 56 seconds left and 11 on the play clock when Sparty was out of timeouts. They could have taken a delay of game, then snapped the third down play with 45 seconds left, which would have allowed them to not have to punt on fourth down. Even if there were a couple of seconds left, on fourth down they could have thrown the ball out of bounds 10 yards downfield to kill the clock without a punt.

But Jimmah couldn’t figure that out.

My brother in law and I were at a Longhorn steakhouse before a 24 hour casino marathon and ended up spending the next 4 hours at the bar they have drinking and laughing our asses off. I'm still not 100% sure how we got to the casino or how we got home.

Simple Jim's clock management rivals Les Miles. He's had many gaffes of that nature. The best was last year's sparty game when they were down 10 with like 5:40 to play and went on a plodding 4:50 drive that included multiple instances of them completing passes over the middle and them seemingly avoiding getting out of bounds to stop the clock. They scored to cut the lead to 3, but then sparty just sat on the ball for 45 seconds and won.

That was, I think, the moment the Ministry of Excuses turned on him.

I was driving on the freeway listening on the radio and almost fucking crashed I was laughing so hard

I was taking my nephew to the Ohio State - Penn State game that night. As we're walking up to the stadium, we kept ducking into tailgates that had TVs with that game on. I lost more and more hope as we got closer to the stadium, and finally decided to go into the stadium. We got to our seats up in C deck with a lot of time remaining, and someone had a radio on or maybe he was watching on his phone. He started shouting because he heard the play, and the small pocket of us around him started to cheer. A few seconds later, a small pocket of fans over there started cheering. Then a pocket over there. We realized that people were slowly learning of the ending of that game.

After the game, I stayed up until probably 3:00 looking for replays of that game. And I found a lot, of course.
