I guess it hadn’t occurred to me until now, but in the span of five weeks in 2015, MSU defeated both UM and OSU in two games it never held the lead in regulation time.

And now a word on culture. We talk about how scUMmers feel like signing with scUM means they've accomplished something... here's Coach Day on what it means to be named the starting quarterback at Ohio State:

“I think he knows that this is just an opportunity. It’s not an accomplishment, it’s an opportunity, and I think he looked at it like that,”

Justin Fields joined Ohio State as a transfer from Georgia in January of 2019. By November of that year he had this to say about scUM:

I just think we take it more seriously than they do, I think. We prepare for it all year," he said. "We're preparing for them next year right now. I think it just means more at Ohio State. That's pretty much, I think, the bigger reason why we have more success than they do."

And you know, momentum shouldn’t matter. They play, and then don’t for 360-something days, and many of the starters are different. But…damned if it hasn’t been that once Tressel got that train rolling, damned if they’ve had zero answer to stop it
