Here's the first little morsel of false hope camp hype

https://www.mlive.com/wolverines/20...ook-d-keeps-players-guessing-in-practice.html

The new defensive coordinator does ground breaking things like throwing out multiple looks to try to keep the offense guessing
It’s hilarious if this isn’t sending up massive red flag warning signs for them.

It mirrors the makeup of the defensive coaching staff — a collection of assistants from different backgrounds and systems coming together to start from scratch.

Because in the secondary, it’s a lot more complicated than it used to be. They’re all just moving and doing different things now.
A not very talented group starting from scratch and doing overly complicated shit to try to disguise their deficiencies, what could possibly go wrong?

They will get reports of how "good" the defense looks, but that's probably because the offense is equally as confused.

Ronnie Bell quoted in that article. Their "#1" WR basically saying he is lost.

“As an offense, as a receiver, when you’re running around trying to figure out who you’re blocking or you’re running your route out of, it’s definitely a lot more complicated than it used to be,”

If the offense really is struggling against a not so talented confused defense, lol.

Cue the hilarious video of their WRs joking about not knowing what the play is.

That’s one thing I really, really appreciate about Day as a coach. If the defense happens to be doing something that is working, Day is great at adjusting and eventually flipping the script and exploiting whatever the defense is showing.

In the unlikely scenario that whatever they’re slapping together up north slows the Ohio State offense down for a time, the chances of that lasting past the second quarter, much less the entire game, are basically non existent.

And that is ignoring the massive talent gap and looking at it just from a scheme perspective.
