This dynamic of endorsement companies paying more than the team isn’t unique. It also isn’t a problem in any other sport that I am aware.

Nike isn’t going to run afoul of Ohio State (or any school) by having their endorser be a problem for the coach.

Agree with you completely.

But I do wonder who is going to be blamed the first time a college student with hundreds of thousands does something that young people that get too much too fast always do. A lot of people will clutch the pearls and act like it's a problem created by the new rules, when young people being bad with money has been a problem for literally millennia. Some will likely blame the biggest endorser of the kid that made the stupid decision. Others will jump on the big name endorser just because that's what they've been conditioned to do.

This is not a "prediction" any more than it's a prediction when someone says "that's going to hit the ground" when the cable holding the grand piano snaps. We all see it coming. We know there's going to be a lot of noise. We know that the only way we can get hurt by it is if we get too close, so it's best to just turn around and walk away.

Yup.

Money makes people act the fool anyway. Add in teenagers lack of impulse control, helicopter parents and the like and some crazy shit is going to go down.

Then again, we've been making multimillionaires out of teenagers in basketball for decades. World was still spinning as of the submission of this post.

I think it’s much to do about nothing. Like you said, kids have been multi millionaires fir years. And I think many will be more willing to not to do something stupid for fear of losing out on those funds. The wreck less Snapchat and Twitter posts will become less if that kid can lose tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars. I think parents would wring their kids necks for screwing up those opportunities

Ja’Kobi Albert commits in six days, on August 4. I like him a lot. Fantastic safety. GREAT OPEN FIELD TACKLER. It looks like, AFAICT, Mike Macdonald's defense is going to rely heavily on safeties and LBs, to be, fast, physical, and good open field tacklers.

Punishing hitter. Has wheels! Seems like Mike Macdonald is going after the physical hitter types.

They seem excited to have a DC who has cracked the secret code that you need people on defense who make tackles.
