You could really argue it gives even less parity, Bama, Ohio State, Clemson, Notre Dame and OU are basically going to be in every year unless they slip and lose 3 games (hell some year they are liable to even get in with 3 losses)

The rest of the 7 or whatever teams are going to be a revolving door of cannon fodder that people wont even remember. Hell people will barely even remember the semi finals.

That's my point. We're at a point where all of the same teams are getting the best talent, and guys who can't cut it just go elsewhere, but it still doesn't diminish the talent still on the roster(i.e. losing guys like: Jameson Williams, Derion Kendrick, Trey Sermon, Brandon Turnage, Jordan Johnson or Charleston Rambo don't make a blip). The committee can even expand to 16 teams if they want and it won't matter. Sure you may have one season where you get a nice Boise St-OU type upset, but it will rarely happen because the stakes are for an actual Championship and not just an exhibition trophy. And that Boise St type team could get a nice 1 round win, but they will be buzz sawed by one of the teams that keep ending up in the final 4. Like I said in another thread, we can start Jack Miller, Steele Chambers, frosh WRs and backups at OL and still win the B1G and make it to the CFP. And honestly Bama, Clemson and OU could all do the same in their respective conferences as well. CFB fans wanted a true champion, and this is what we got

And Denard was their best "QB" of the 2010's :slappy:

Yup, an NFL RB was their best QB of a decade!

What’s really going to be great is all the crying when a Bama/Clemson/Ohio State Type team has a super young team, drops a couple of bad games early and then talent and coaching start coming together and they roar back and make and win the playoff. DFBIA will be the first in line to cry about how “unfair it is” and that the “regular season is now meaningless”:......you get what you ask for.

CFP has been around since 2014.

OSU and Bama putting more guys in the NFL than anyone else has been happening for over 20 years.

For the record, tsun has had 93 players selected. The difference between OSU and tsun in draft picks (48) is equal to the difference between tsun (93) and Maryland (45).

By DFBIA logic then, is there an inherent unfairness in the system that keeps Maryland from being able to recruit at their level?

There's never been anything "fair" about recruiting. Its all about being the best. If you can't be the best than you're just shit out of luck.

I'm sure DFBIA would clamor for some system where schools are capped with an amount of 5* and 4* they can have and kids are forced to go to places they don't really want to go.

The quotes from Hairball are ones from a desperate coach who is trying to blow smoke up his bosses and fanbase' bungholes. He can't honestly be feeling confident going into the season with so many coaches who will have their first years at different positions, and who had mixed results at their previous stops. And when your biggest rival is on an absolute role in all phases of the game, they're only falling further behind. And not to mention, MSU may not be a joke for long in comparison to "big brother". A decimated MSU with a 1st year HC beat scUM, sure it could've been because scUM underestimated them, but I also think that scUM has no team identity. They have games where they want to be a spread offense(speed in space), then they want to be a smash mouth offense using multiple RBs to control the game, but then they want to be a cute gimmicky offense with trick plays. And they're not good at any of them. Just like on defense they want to be imposing and send creative blitzes in a 3-4, or they want to use their back 7 as a strength and try to use S as LBs and use LBs in space, etc, and again, they're not good at those schemes either. We have yet to see what MSU will become under Tucker, but damn if as boring as Dantonio was we knew what his teams were. Hard nosed, punch you in mouth, control the clock, essentially a poor man's Tressel ball because he couldn't get the same level of talent as Tress. Having no identity in football is far worse than having an identity(no matter how predictable it is).
Point of order, being entitled douchecanoes is an identity

Hahaha they whiff on another DT transfer.

A week ago they seemed pretty sure they were getting.

Love the bashing of UCLA as a “mediocre football team” while true. Those who live in glass houses......

At a position where they have no depth and no proven commodities the only guy they’ve been able to lure in is a super out of shape injury case who’s only other FCS caller was UAB
