True true. Good point

And also, he seems to be a good recruiter who learned a lot from LJsr while a GA at OSU

Where did you see this? Only thing I've seen or heard about Joyner is he just signed to be Ole Miss' Dline coach.

Birm is putting the brakes on this a bit. Says they don't know if LJ is retiring, but if he does, Joyner would be the replacement. Others are saying done deal. Lots of speculation out there that it's done. This is coming from the same people who said Knowles was a done deal before anyone knew, not the group that said Freeman was a done deal. LOL!

Knowles

By many measures, Knowles’ Oklahoma State defense has been one of the best in the country in 2021, ranking first in the nation in sacks (54) and tackles for loss (113), second in opposing third down percentage (25.8%), third in yards allowed per game (278.4), fourth in yards allowed per play (4.42), sixth in yards allowed per rushing attempt (2.74), eighth in points allowed per game (16.8) and 14th in yards allowed per passing attempt (6.26).

Defense should be much improved just by guys coming back next year. Burke and Brown should be lock down types. Chambers and Simon with another year experience at LB with depth coming in. The front line freshmen should be terrific. If they can figure out Knowles' schemes, they will be good at least a LOT better.

Im not expecting anything from this defense until games are played. I got burned this year in thinking guys who looked lost due to the Covid year, would turn it around in ‘21, and boy was I wrong. I’ll just wait and see before projecting. Especially since guys like Chambers and Burke wouldn’t even on anyones radar last off season to pop during the season.

It wasn't Chambers' and Burke's fault that the defense was sketchy...

That wasn't my point...

I was stating that we have no idea who will step up next year. Just like going into this season we wouldn't have expected a true frosh to be our best CB or a RB who switched positions right before the season would be our best LB.
