2021 College Football Polls

A regular season loss by any of Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, and Oklahoma essentially guarantees a spot if the Bucks win out. Even if that weren't to happen, Georgia beating Bama or a loss by Oregon or Oklahoma in their CC games would do the same. As I've stated before though, I think there is a scenario that lands us at #5 regardless of what happens.

So the AP voters have Auburn at #18 and Penn State at #20.

Penn State has the head-to-head win, and a win at Wiscy. Auburn has wins at LSU and Arkansas.

Auburn lost 28-20 at Penn State and by 24 at home against Georgia, and Penn State lost a 1-score game at Iowa and the 9-OT fiasco against Illinois.

But I guess Auburn’s wins over Akron, Alabama St, and Georgia State (which needed a last-minute 4th-down conversion) are more impressive than Penn State’s wins over Indiana, Villanova, and Ball State.

C’mon people, at least try to make us believe that you’re paying attention.

Or do they need to prop up Bama’s only remaining ranked opponent?

I think you know the answer.

The latest Coaches poll has Wake up to #9, and Sparty at #6, right behind tOSU.

Surprisingly, Penn State is the only ranked team with 3 losses.

Does anyone actually believe that these 64 coaches really think the Juggalos are the second best team? It will be very interesting to see where the CFP Committee places them this Tuesday.

I'm happy to see Sparty getting all the love. The better ranked they are, the more likely beating them will impress voters. Seriously, the announcers on TV are acting like they had the game of a lifetime, against a coach who cannot beat ranked teams or his two rivals, at home, by 4 points. If Day had gone for 3 points the first two times down the stretch, the Buckeyes would have beaten the spread. Not scoring in the red zone hurt badly. The lack of execution on offense, especially the inability to push most of the game for the O line, hurt on the style points...but the way those refs called that game also hurt Ohio State yesterday.

Note to coaches: Get your team settled down before the next big game. Buckeyes came out with their sphincters so tight it's a miracle someone didn't explode.
