2021 CFB Playoff Discussion

As things stand now, winner of SECCG is #1, tOSU #2, loser of SECCG #3, and Cinci #4.
I find it hard to imagine the committee wouldn't offer up Cincy as an easy Semifinal for one of the SEC schools.

But as somebody else pointed out, I like the idea of getting Georgia first with the longer prep time. And Saban with shorter prep time.
Does Saban prepare for Cincy, Georgia, or us in December?
Yes. He has enough staff to already be making a game plan for each potential opponent.

Not that it matters for fuck before 3:30 Saturday but if UGA beats Bama I don't think Bama holds on at 4. I think it goes to 1 loss ND or 1 loss B1G 12 champ with OSU and UC being 2 & 3.
This. If Georgia beats Alabama in their conference title game, and we and Cincy win out, then the #4 spot is open to:

1. One-loss Notre Dame
2. One-loss winner of Oklahoma/Oklahoma State game
3. Two-loss Alabama

There's no fucking way that Alabama gets in with two losses, even if they play Georgia near dead-even, because they'll have two losses to Notre Dame's and Oklahoma/Oklahoma State's one loss.

I'd go with Notre Dame.

You could well be correct.
Even so, I'll never bet against ESPN's committee keeping Bama out.

What would really be funny is Auburn beats Bama this weekend then Bama beats UGA in the SECCG. Then what? "But, but, but, but, but....SEC!

SEC is just so hard. Clearly we need Bama, Georgia, and Auburn!

I don't understand what seems to have become an assumption - that Bama can lose twice and get a bid. It's never happened.

If they beat Gawja and both finish with one-loss, then yes, they'll both get in. Otherwise, I don't see two-loss Bama having a chance unless Cinci AND ND (and probably Oklahoma) lose. Not impossible, but the bottom line is they'd need some help.

I'm still holding out for:

Gawja-ND
OSU-Cinci

Make it happen.

Fun thing here is if okie beats okie state this weekend it would be a rematch next weekend. They could each hand each other a second loss in 2 weeks. That would be fun.
I’ll be cheering for that and Georgia in the sec game, because it’s fun to watch notre dame get whooped.

UGA loses to GaTech and Bama
B1G East champ loses to Wiscy
Okie beats Okie Lite then loses B12 championship game.
Juggalos drop their last two
Domers drop their last game.

Everyone has two losses, and there's only one thing the committeespn can do:

  1. Bama
  2. Georgia
  3. Ole Miss
  4. Notre Dame
That lineup would certainly free up a lot of my time for home projects.

I view playing the juggalos as akin to this. Imagine someone approaches you and says if you can do this task, he'll hand you 500K in cash. Now, you're absolutely certain that you can do the task nine times out of ten. If, however, you fail the task, you get blinded and castrated. Are those acceptable odds knowing how horrific the consequences will be should things come up craps? Because that's how I view the possibility, no matter how slim, of having the juggalos knock us out of the playoffs and go on to the championship.
