I think there's a different dynamic in play now. It's clear that the only thing Delany cared about was protecting the Rose Bowl, but Delany is gone, so I don't think it's a given that the Big Ten will bend over again. Also, the UT/OU move seemed to have woken up the rest of college football, and The Alliance is the result of that. Even a conference on the espn plantation was alarmed enough by the SEC's move that they joined the B1G and PAC to form it. The wild card, as I posted elsewhere, are Gene and the other B1G AD's. They've spent their entire careers being corrupted by the bowl committees, so we'll have to wait and see how that plays out.
