And it turns out that they've been sitting on the recent allegations for a year and a half!

The university said it was first alerted to allegations against Anderson in July 2018, when a former student athlete wrote to Athletic Director Warde Manuel to detail abuse during medical exams by Anderson in the early 1970s.

On why they didn't publicly ask victims to come forward after being notified in 2018

Asked Wednesday why the university did not publicly ask victims to come forward until after being contacted by The News, UM spokesman Rick Fitzgerald said, "The university took this action based on receipt of an initial review by the external law firm and the prosecutor's decision Tuesday" not to file criminal charges.

Part of me wants to be sympathetic, but the other half can't help but enjoy the smug being slapped off their faces after the way they responded to Nassar and Strauss.

A quick check on MGoFuckYourOwnFace, and the thread is pretty level headed. No hint of ped state cult-like attempts to bury the truth and claim purity. Many are rightly seeing the UM administration's handling of this not as some evidence of moral purity but rather simply an administration operating in a post Sandusky and Nassar world.

We'll see if that holds up should Bo get dragged into this though.

I dunno. Who do they play? U Wash is under a new coach and probably headed to second place in Pac 12 North. They don't play a team with a pulse between the Huskies and Penn State. As for PSU, the Wolverines blew that game in the first half and still just missed closing the deal in the second - on the road. Sparty - new coach and probably bowl ineligible - is back to being little brother for a few years. Wisky? They lost a ton - including two thirds of their offense when Taylor moved on - and the game is in Ann Arbor. Minnie is probably their only real Big Ten test until The Game. 9 - 2 is possible depending on how fast one of the two QBs develops (he says, remembering the year of Cardale/Barrett) I don't see any reason why they couldn't be 10- 1 coming to Columbus. And 11 - 0 would not shock me. in the end, they're still Michigan - they have the facilities, the fan base, the money, the tradition to count on, and while I see them getting their ass handed to them by the Buckeyes, they should be good enough to walk through most of the schedule.
