2020 Team Discussion Thread

Thanksgiving means missing the bowl season and CFP. Just start the season the first week of October. This isn't rocket surgery or even brain science.

There is an incredible difference between late November and early October in terms of dealing with COVID.

Kevin Warren is the only one that seems to know what that difference is.

Not political at all....lololol. Glad Thanksgiving weekend apparently makes sense even as HS out of state matchups are in full swing as we speak.

Keep in mind every school utilized in this add had to approve being featured in it. So Michigan, Wisconsin, Northwestern (?) and Youngstown State all contributed to this Biden add.

Big 10 is a joke. Suppressing local business and football enjoyment this fall in the name of trying to influence swing state elections. I’ve never been more convinced after this political add. So fucking sad. Our beast of a team was literally done in by politics. I’ll always love OSU, but I really think the Big 10 is miscalculating just how horrible this is going to play out longterm. The Big 10 can go fuck itself.

It already did.

Do you even 2020 bro?

But now they’re not even hiding their political agenda. Just throwing schools into political ads.....you’ve gotta be kidding me.

I don’t care what side of the aisle you are on, bringing these football programs into a political ad is fucking horrific. And it clearly feeds into the players and parents hypothesis that the season was not cancelled due to Covid, but bc the Big 10 was playing politics.

It’s hard to argue otherwise when you start letting your likeness be used in Biden adds calling out football being delayed.

It’s so bad......ungodly bad. Like these schools should recognize what a mistake they’ve made and beg it doesn’t run anymore, bad. Unreal.

I’ve been so depressed I haven’t really paid that much attention......but wow, EVERYONE is hammering the B10 and calling them out. What a massive cluster fuck. I’d really like to know if those in the ivory towers even realize this. They said “let them eat cake” and the peasants aren’t buying it. And, as much as I dislike many talking heads in sports media.....almost all of them are hammering the B10 for how they have handled it.

So you think because a politician is taking advantage of events not happening to make an ad, it's proof that there was a multi-conference conspiracy by 2 commissioners and over 2 dozen university presidents to cancel football for political reasons?

I'm sorry, but trying to make this decision out to be political is one of the dumbest things to come out of this. These commissioners and presidents aren't political activists, they're fancy lads and ladies who are looking out for themselves and trying to avoid long-term bad press in their circles. This decision was a lot of things, but it wasn't about the presidential election.

Yeah, i don't think they need the universities approval to run those images in the add. Also interesting that the only logos I noticed were washington state? (red W) ttun's logo. Don't know if they could have bought that from a 3rd party that owned rights to the image, or if they were the only universities that gave approval to Biden to put it in his add.

If I were Biden's campaign manager I would be running nonstop adds in the midwest about how the bungled corona response is causing you to miss football this year.
