2020 Team Discussion Thread

So is there any thought that the B1G is seeing how the teams fare in the first major weekend of college football to make the decision on starting in October? Feel like you would have to wait a week or two to see if there is an outbreak among players though.

If that's the case that's chicken shit leadership. If they believe it's dangerous then fine....people can agree or disagree. But to just sit and wait and use everybody else as test subjects? Fuck off.

Too soon! Told you to wait a bit longer for hope that isn't coming!

First conference to cancel OOC games, first conference to "postpone" the season, hiding behind published letters and having to be sued to provide information.

Everything the "leaders" of the B1G have done since July says "chicken shit".

Well, they can't control the other conferences decision to play. It might have the feeling that the other conferences are lab rats, but the B1G is not in control. They fucked everything up regardless as Jake said, but I'm just saying theoretically the B1G could say "It appears other teams are playing safely and we can too". It's chicken shit either way.

In any event, looking pretty likely for the university presidents to vote on this tomorrow. Not holding my breath on the results though, sounds like the lower level teams and some politically motivated presidents may be out on having a season. If the university presidents get to decide and vote against it, we really do need to find a new conference.

Yeah all the noises coming from the Rutgers and Michigan residents make it seem like they are out and basically hoping the shit hits the fan in october so they can gloat about it.

From what I’ve seen, they really only need 8 votes. I don’t know if they’ll get 8 or not. I think they have the following:

OSU
Nebraska
Iowa
Indiana
Purdue
Penn State

Not sure how rest of conference goes. To vote “yes” to football is to basically go against local politics.

Incredibly hard situation.

The buzz I'm seeing is that they will get enough votes due to some schools opting out but still getting revenue. Not sure if that's Minnesota and TTUN or someone else.

Yeah, it’s huge if a president/chancellor is allowed to vote that other B1G teams can play even if they don’t let their own team play. That might be the only way they get 9 votes.

Well that's about as smart as voting to not let a whole conference play, but allowing your own son to play.
