2020 Team Discussion Thread

So if we won't know the long term effects for 10+ years does that mean football and all other activities should be shut down until then?

Exactly. Also, if they really have actually done something other than just sit around with their thumbs up their collective asses--oops, my bad, make that fucking asses (so sorry @Thump)--then you know for damn sure they would've let us know about it.
I just cannot believe Ohio State hasn't pushed their weight around. Imagine if OSU said "either play or we will schedule games". What's Kevin going to do say he will withhold our TV money?

Shit if Warren said that then it's simple "okay cool then we'll apply to be in the ACC and who knows who else leaves like Nebraska back to the Big 12".

They have zero leverage and we are sitting back and accepting it.

I feel bad for the players and their parents. They are trying so hard and are getting absolutely no help from Gene or our President.

Since when is a loss of $130 million dollars okay too?

Gene hasn't done nearly enough and I swear if we put pressure on them all the other big ten schools who want to play will push hard too. I don't know why there is so much silence on this.

Here let me fix this for you.

I wouldn’t mind if Michigan was nuked, nuke it from orbit for all I care.......

First option I have seen presented that would make it worth a year without football.

If nuking tsun is the price we have to pay to eradicate COVID then by god, it will be tough, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice.

Nah, then the Pedsters will really think they're our rivals.

Besides, I'd miss seeing delusional scUM fans and the Buckeyes beating that ass.

On the bright side... if we do play early January and we play at the dome stadiums throughout the midwest our team gets to play on a fast track all season.

Plus if they allow people to go maybe I can luck into a game. That's about it for positives.

They have to play starting January 2nd so we can be done by mid March. So question though does this mean Cooper and Hilliard will get to play both seasons?

Ohio State doesn’t have nearly the weight you think it does. Athletic revenue is peanuts compared to the Academic grant $$$ the university generates by being aligned with other Big 10 schools and as part of the AAU.

They wouldn’t like to see us leave, but they wouldn’t beg us to stay. The conference is academics first.....

That said, the Presidents and conference continue to be cowardly in their approach and response to fall football IMO.

A season starting right at the beginning of January might be feasible if it did actually end in March. Would probably allow enough time to recover. Never thought about it, but curious what happens if other conferences play in the fall and we're done by March? Do they postpone playoffs to see what happens with the B1G season? My inclination would be a hell no and I frankly don't see any season until fall of 2021, but interesting to think about since I have nothing else Buckeye football to consider this fall. As it draws nearer to September, I've accepted there won't be a fall season but still have that pit in my stomach when I think about it.

The CFP is adamant they are staying with original schedule. And I promise ESPN is fine with it. Their money is tied up in the SEC and ACC, so as long as those conferences are playing, there isn’t a massive need for the Big 10 or Pac 12 in the CFP.
