2020 Team Discussion Thread

Teague is a good North and South runner. Going laterally is not a strength. He seems to be more productive in the latter stages of the game. He is really stiff when running the ball with little movement. Dobbins is very fluid, has great moves and can make guys miss.

Methinks that we will need someone who will share the load much like Dobbins and Webber did in 2018. A healthy Crowley could be that guy.
Teague just needs more work with JF and the starting line. He might have been looking over his shoulder when in the game early.

Has anyone done a two deep? I'll give it a shot.

Returning Starter | Incoming Freshman

QB: FieldsMiller OR Stroud
RB: Teague – Crowley
TE:
Farrell OR Ruckert

LT:
MunfordJohnson
LG: Miller
– Vimahi
C:
Myers – Miller
RG:
Wyatt – Cupp
RT: NPF – Jones

WR: Wilson – Har
ris OR Fleming
WR: Olave – Williams
H: Saunders OR Gill

DE: Smith OR Harrison
NT: Togiai – Cage
DT: Garrett – Vincent
DE: Cooper – Tyler Friday

LB: Pope OR Mitchell
LB: Borland OR Browning
LB: Pete Werner – Hilliard

CB: Banks – Watts?
CB: Brown – Johnson
CB: Amir Riep – Williamson
SF: Proctor – Hooker

DBs will take a step back, but I actually think they'll be ok. Riep got better as he got his feet wet. Banks has flashed a few times.

As for LB, if Browning doesn' improve and grow into the MLB role as sole starter, they will be a problem again. Werner is an asset in coverage though and Pope has flashed in mop up.

I just don't see a lot of vision in Teague. Hope I'm wrong, obviously.
Perhaps but I personally don't think he has the ability or flexibility that JK has. Teague just might be faster and he's probably as strong. I just can't see Master making the run that JK did on his 2nd long run against Clemson. The way JK leans into the angle and then quick cuts through the middle is something Master will never have.

Might need to update the secondary projection....

I wouldn’t be overly surprised to see Crowley overtake Teague tbh.

Also, Tyreke Johnson’s light coming on or staying off will be a major component to this defense next season imo.

I would. Think people are pressing the panic button way too early on Teague. But I do really like Crowley too. Maybe they can split carries like JK and Weber did.

Agree with your 2nd point

Let’s also remember that the plays installed were designed and selected for JK’s strengths. I have faith that with the maulers in the middle, the coaches will be able to design some inside runs that will let him shine more than getting him to the edge. Also, let’s give MT the offseason to work with Mic.
