2020 B1G Season - Starts Oct. 23/24

This, a hundred times. They didn't really want a season, so after being pressured into it they set it up to fail.

That, or they really are the dumbest collection of smart people on the planet.

As frustrated as I am with them, I think I'm more frustrated with the CFP committee that had a shot to solve these issues by temporarily expanding the playoff to 8 or more teams or rescheduling to a week or 2 before the super bowl.

They saw the number of cancelations, they have the ability to play with dates, and yet they do nothing. The lack of imagination or ability to adapt is staggering.

Question: will all of the heat coming at Warren, wasn't it the B1G ADs and presidents who voted to not have the season? Shouldn't the blame be on administrations of Rutgers, Maryland, Purdue, NW, etc and not mainly at Warren?

Conference needs new leadership ASAP

This could possibly come into play. If scUM backs out, Wisconsin and Iowa are scheduled to play that day. If one of them can't go then schedule the other one.

Of course, this assumes we even get the Sparty game in Saturday. Fuck this year.

So, hypothetically say we play one of two games over the next two weeks and are not eligible for the title game. Week of the title game, IU has to shut down due to COVID outbreak...what now?

They'll (well, more like Kevin Warren because I don't think even the school presidents would be entirely on board with this) probably do something stupid like claim there will be no championship game, and no conference champion will be named if one team can play but the other can't. I'm guessing we'll get stuck with an uneven number of teams not able to play due to COVID, so shit will get messy with the intended cross-division matchups.

The important part is they'll (he'll) be making it up as they (he) go(es), because you know damn well based on their (his) history this year they haven't (he hasn't) planned for it.

I'm going to assume they do end up reversing that minimum game to be in the championship rule. Of course this whole season has been orchestrated by a bunch of idiots, so its not safe to assume anything

Even if they do, is a win over a Northwestern team whos not going to be undefeated really going to sway CFP opinion? Likely not.

Since it looks like there’s now a good chance of The Game not happening on 12/12, the B1G should re-evaluate the cross-divisional plan for 12/19.

Rather than have tOSU play Wiscy and TTUN play a 4th or 5th place team from the West, have these games on 12/19, assuming Indiana-Northwestern is the CCG.

The Game - TTUN at Ohio State, last conference game of the year for Ohio State since 1935

The Battle for the Axe - Wisconsin versus Minnesota, the most-played rivalry in FBS, which was previously cancelled (credit to @Bucky32 for this part). This game has been played every year since Teddy Roosevelt interrupted it in 1906, when a touchdown was only worth 5 points. That’s a tradition worth extending.

Or does that make too much sense for Kevin Warren to approve it?
