2020-2021 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

Florida Gators' Keyontae Johnson being released from hospital

Florida Gators forward Keyontae Johnson is being released from the hospital, his family said in a statement Tuesday.

In the statement, the Johnsons said they are looking "forward to spending Christmas together as a family."

Johnson collapsed and fell face-first while heading back onto the court after a first-half timeout during a game at Florida State on Dec. 12. He was given emergency medical attention and taken off the court on a stretcher before being rushed to Tallahassee Memorial.

While Johnson's recovery seems to be progressing, it still has not been said publicly what happened to him, something the Johnson family addressed Tuesday.

The Gainesville Sun, citing someone with first-hand knowledge of the situation, reported the news Tuesday. The rare heart disease has been found in patients previously diagnosed with COVID-19, though the Sun could not confirm the issue was related to the disease. Johnson, along with a handful of other Gators players, tested positive for the coronavirus over the summer. Florida on Nov. 22 was forced to cancel its season-opening tournament because of team-wide coronavirus issues.

NW has a lot of pretty good talent maturing at the same time in guys like Berran, Kopp, Nance, Buie.

Chase Audige is a third year sophomore and as far as a guy with good potential transferring up from a mid major, I mean, NW hit the jackpot with him. He won't always be as hot as he got in the 2nd half of the IU game, but he was incredible (other than a really bad turnover late that he managed to make up for) and a legit iso weapon on the perimeter for the Wildcats.

Even Ryan Young looked good!

I don't see a bottom in this conference. Maybe Nebraska, but even they were making things tough for Wisconsin the other night.

It's gonna be a bloodbath. Then the thing is, how many NBA entries are we seeing from the conference after this season? I am not seeing a lot right now. And then all the seniors can come back if they want? Are you kidding me? Depending on how all that goes, the conference could become brutally challenging to an absurd degree next season. Like, no winners, only mutually assured destruction.

I can’t believe Foster Loyer gets meaningful minutes on a D1 team. Let alone the “#6” one in the nation.

Cats up 43-30 at half. See if NW can hang on.
MSU now getting their doors blown off by minny.

I called out the Foster Loyer problem earlier, but Watts, Henry and Langford are black holes on offense as well. Trasfer shooter from Marquette can’t play D (or shoot). And they have no bigs. Not sure how this team improves. They’re just bad.

So then they'll hit 15 3s when they play us...cool

Sparty looked awfully bad last night. I really do not think that they have the players this year for them to turn it around. It will be interesting to watch them and how long Tommy can take it without going ballistic
