2019 Week 8 CFB Open Thread

Pruitt on the 4th down goal line fumble: "There was some miscommunication out there. That's our fault. It's nobody's fault. Coaches' fault. Starting with me."

Vol Nation was already breaking down the blocking assignments and had come to the conclusion it was a power run to the left and Guarantano keeping the ball was evidence of him "going rogue" so he should be benched now and forever.

They seriously have threads on their boards defending Pruitt yanking his QBs facemask while cursing at him on national TV, because everything wrong with the offense for two years is Guarantano's fault, and not his coaches (or the coaching he's received).

These people have gone completely off the rails.

Boise’s ascension to #14 was built entirely off the perception that Willie Taggart actually knew how to coach. And that win over Taggart’s team was viewed as “quality” in the eyes of the preseason voters.

That huge win was followed up by wins over 4-3 Marshall (14-7), FCS Portland State, 4-2 Air Force, 2-5 UNLV, and 4-2 Hawaii.

I think this season is as good an example as any to show just how useless preseason polls are.

I still don’t understand what the “experts” were seeing when they picked UM to win the Big Ten this year. They are the same team they were last year and the year before. They’re barely a a Top 25 team. And they’ll probably be unranked by the end of the season.
