2019 Fall Camp and Other Tidbits

I know every year has unrealistically high expectations but I see this team making the playoffs. Seriously.

I’ve thought the same thing every year since Urban took over and I’m not about to change now. No way.

Urban had some teams that could have wrecked the playoffs but didn’t get selected...2015, 2017 and 2018. Throw in an undefeated 2012 team that just wouldn’t lose...and I feel like it’s time to see what tOSU is capable of and running the table is apparently the only way they’re getting an opportunity at the CFP.

So kill ‘em all.

Before it all starts tomorrow my best guess is that we see something like 1979.

New-coach-with-last-guys-talent type of big year. Football history is replete with examples of this.

That said, I will caution against the inevitable rush to put Day on to Buckeye Mt Rushmore if that type of season should occur.

Before they show up to camp for Day 1, look to Earl as both a comp and cautionary tale.

Clemson received 59 of a possible 65 first-place votes. Alabama received the remaining six votes.

The big story, however, is that consensus Big Ten favorite Michigan is somehow ranked No. 7.

Five other Big Ten teams can be found in the rankings: 14) Penn State, 17) Wisconsin, 19) Iowa, 20) Michigan State, and 25) Northwestern.
