Terence Dials, the 2006 Big Ten Player of the Year and 2015 inductee into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame, has been named the director of professional development with the men’s basketball program, Chris Holtmann, head coach of the Buckeyes, announced Wednesday.
Dials, who lettered in 2002 and then from 2004-06, played 132 games during his career, scoring 1,566 points and grabbing 867 rebounds. His point total rates No. 14 all-time in Ohio State history while his rebound total is ranked No. 5.
His duties will primarily include providing and arranging professional development and community service opportunities for the Buckeyes. Dials will work with the Eugene D. Smith Leadership Institute to arrange internships, mentors, job fairs and other personal and career growth initiatives for student-athletes. He also will provide academic support, oversight and mentoring.

Pedon, who made $395,000 each of the past two years, will be the highest-paid assistant coach for the third year in a row. He was given a six-figure raise and will make $500,000 each of the next two years.
After making $300,000 per year as the lowest-paid assistant the past two years, Johnson will make $325,000 the next two years. Diebler, in his first year as an assistant coach at Ohio State, will make $250,000.

Pedon, Johnson and Diebler also each have a stipend of $600 per month to pay for a car. They'll each get four tickets to home football games, eight tickets to home basketball games and four tickets to postseason basketball games.
