2018 Week 14 CFB Open Thread

Total bullshit that ND gets a complete fucking pass.

And it’s equally bullshit of the Conf Champs of trash ACC and trash Big 12 get in over the Big 10 Conf Champ, especially if it’s a OSU beat down.

Best way to protest if this ends up being the case is to just not watch anything other than the ohio state game.

I won't be watching any of the nonsense bowls or the playoff games at all.

Keep in mind the conference with Southern and Grambling already doesn’t do the playoff in FCS...I wouldn’t be surprised to see a conference eventually pull out of it in FBS either

That ship has sailed. We are more likely to see the conferences break up and split away from the NCAA entirely than we are to see things go backwards.

8 is the right number. 4 is too restrictive with the conferences and whatnot.

Why not 6? Top two teams are often fairly agreed upon most years - give them a bye. Would be cool as hell for there to be an OU-OSU play in game in my opinion. Power 5 guaranteed a spot as long they are in top 12-15 range (no conference champ auto bids) and 1+ at large. I'd rather see that than 8.

You gotta remember what drives all this bullshit is TV money.

If they are going to have more teams, they are going to want more games. That means 8 as that will give them 4 more 4 hour games to sell ads too.

I am naive enough to think that the execs with hundreds of millions on the line are weighing the value of keeping the regular season must watch every week, which is why we are still going to be at four teams 30 years after they they first tried to make the bowl system something other than an exhibition.
