Um, he's almost sixty and was just fired by Washington. He recruited pretty well, but never made it past the Sweet-16 despite a pretty good collection of NBA talent in Seattle the past decade plus. Also, since 2013, his record looks like this:

79-83, .488 overall
34-56, .378 vs PAC-12
0 NCAA's (in fact, none in his last 6 years)
2 NITs (1 first round exit, 1 second round)
9-22/2-16 last year

That's significantly worse than Thad. Why in Woody's name do that?

But Jon Gruden was on the plane. Then he was in Port Columbus. Then he was not the Ohio State coach.

Very true, only way I guess is with so many Coaches saying they're not interested or candidates.

Completely agree. Good coach, bad guy. Nothing good would come of it long-term. My mention of him earlier was in jest...simply to demonstrate how much I did not want to see McDermott named as the new coach.

I'd be happy with Huggy Bear at this point.
