tOSU needs to lead the media discussion instead of allowing others to make the news up as they go along. Right now this is an apparent cluster *uck of the highest magnitude.

Unless he falls backasswards into a great hire, I'd fire Gene Smith for failing to be decisive at the appropriate time. A leader doesn't mull things over for 2 months before making a decision based on no more information than he had available to him two months ago. Poor recruiting? Declining attendance? Lackluster results? None of that just suddenly became apparent in June.

Fickell was named interim coach, so he knew it may only be for one year. At this point, may as well offer the same thing to Jent. He might not even take it.

Then the new AD can lead a proper coaching search in 2018.

So, in this article, Jardy says Smith is meeting with Mike Brown in Cleveland today while Adrian Wojnarowski says OSU hasn't reached out to Brown and Brown has no interest in coaching CBB.

So to paraphrase... Geno has interviewed Buzz Williams, Chris Jent, and Greg McDermott, and will be meeting with Mike Brown. Bob Huggins has "privately expressed interest".
