Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

I don't see C. Jones scampering down the field on this team but heck I could be very wrong. He is not the runner that Prescott or Marshall is...IMO.
I think Cardale's primary limitation is his inexperience at running the option. He isn't an explosive runner (particularly sidewaus) but he has enough quickness and agility to make plays. Whether he makes the right reads and attacks the defense decisively remains to be seen.

I also think dak is more of a steady runner than a special one.

So long as you're fine with the same approach concerning Alabama's vaunted run defense compared to the competition.

Regardless, the stats were only brought up because a Bama fan claimed we had the 70-something pass defense in the nation. Clearly that's way off.
That was me. I knew it seemed funny when I looked at it. The error was pointed out to me and I acknowledged it.

Because of Sims tendency to "lock down" on Cooper....I think the general public doubts the skill level of Ala's other receivers. Senior WR: DeAndrew White and Christian Jones are explosive and TE's O.J. Howard and Brian Vogler are pretty good too. Yeldon is on the mend and can be deadly out of the backfield. I think the indoor game will help both teams in the passing dept. and I look for the Tide receivers to have very good showings.

I have stated this before, Ala's three weaknesses: Run blocking, DB's not making *plays on deep balls, and inconsistent FG kicking.

* Not receivers running past them, but failing to make the plays to get to the balls deep. I hope Kirby and Co. can fix this soon.

Dak is a lot like Tim Tebow, he just runs over people and I don't see Dak having much success running the ball in the NFL.

The running QB's that have given Ala the most trouble in the past are the quick ones....like Marshall and Johnny Manziel. If C. Jones runs on us with success, I will be very surprised. Ezell will get his yards.

Frankly, I'm not sure he needs to be. I think it's fair to say that he, if he does his job well, will be an opportunistic runner. He doesn't need to break off much, just stay ahead of schedule. If your coaching staff thinks the way your fan base thinks, there should be plenty of opportunities for him to keep us on schedule with short and effective runs.
