Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

Don't take too much offense to this, but I'm beginning to see more and more that there are a lot of fans of SEC teams that really don't know much about college football outside of the SEC, especially the B1G. It's making me more and more excited for Ohio State to show up on the national stage and do a little "teaching".
You are exactly right. The only game of Michigan state's that I watched all year was the OSU one. That was a few days ago. I watched most of oregon's big games, and almost all of the FSU games. I typically only watch games that have some bearing on the national championship. After the fluke loss to Va Tech, I didn't think OSU had a chance until the final week of the season. To follow Auburn, Ole Miss, bama, and Mississippi State is enough football to me. When they were all near the top of the rankings, I felt obligated to follow them.

B1G games were generally overshadowed by an SEC game with title implications. It's been that way for several years now.

I hope to reduce my ignorance in the coming days, as I have several days off work.

No offense was taken, I didn't intend any by saying I felt the b1g games were less important. That was just the personal opinion of one man from Alabama.

I'm also not a huge football fan. I will admit to being an SEC fan. I will root for any SEC fan against any non SEC school. I'm a sick man.

I wouldn't want that luxury. I'd say that's the opposite of a luxury, actually. One-dimensional. Like Melvin Gordon.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That is incorrect. Bama has several very good receivers. They have all been featured when needed and performed admirably. Some of our best plays have used Cooper as a decoy.

Cooper is probably the best receiving luxury in college right now.

My apologies, I wasn't trying to say Cooper is the only good player Alabama has. My point was that I wouldn't want to have only one target for an opposing defense to focus on, which is why I brought up Wisconsin.

Having said that, I do believe Cooper is your best player by far. The numbers there don't lie.

No apology needed. I was trying to say Cooper isn't the only target. It's just he's usually the only one needed and the best. Others are great targets that are used less.

Understood. The original post that I quoted said we don't have the luxury to go to one player all the time, I said I don't see that as a luxury. Wasn't a knock on Alabama whatsoever.

You can save yourself at least 6 hours every fall Saturday by ignoring Ole Miss and Miss State. The fact that we had to hear about them for the first 5 or 6 weeks of this year was annoying enough. I'd argue they are the 2 biggest beneficiaries of the 2014 ESPN hype machine.

Mississippi state lost to bama on the road and a rivalry game to ole miss. They are a great team I wouldn't want to play again. You had to hear about them for nine or ten weeks. I think it was justified.

Ole miss has a great defense. But Bro Wallace has the ability to complete give the game away. They perpetually disappoint their fans. They were overhyped just because of Bro.

Ole Miss had no business beating Bama, as you guys gave the game away due to some costly turnovers. We had to hear about Miss State because they beat an incredibly overrated LSU team and scored a garbage TD against Bama to make it look closer than it really was. I would not be scared whatsoever if OSU had to play Ole Miss or Miss St this year. Bama is a cut above, as we all know, so I don't have the same amount of confidence against you guys as I would against perennial 6-6 SEC teams.

I appreciate your respect for bama. I just think the bama vs miss state game was one of those days that went bama's way.

Let it be known that bama turning the ball over at a key moment was no fluke, but rather something that has plagued bama.
