Here you go, BayBuck. Just one example for you. I am not on here to blow smoke up anyone's ass. Just trying to be part of the conversation. Feel free to challenge my statements any time you feel the need.http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/10/alabama_reports_1434_million_i.html
Alabama has since expanded its football stadium and reaped the benefits of new SEC television deals.
In 2012-13, Alabama listed spending $18.5 million on coaches' salaries and $11.1 million on athletically related student aid -- a difference of $7.4 million. That gap was $6.6 million in Alabama's 2011-12 EADA report.
....
Alabama reported that 52 percent of its athletically related student aid went to men's teams and 48 percent to women's teams.
Miss State was held under 31 pts three times. Dak was in the running for the Heisman for a good chunk of the season. He is also very hard to tackle with decent speed. I would take a comparison to that team as a compliment.
If Cardale throws three picks like Dak did, yes you're done. But that was an atypical game for Dak.
In 2013, Alabama's athletic department revenues provided $6.5 million to academic scholarships. OSU's athletic department contributed $5 million to their academic scholarships. Most universities that have athletic program balance sheets in the black help their schools with academic scholarships. See the link.http://www.forbes.com/sites/chrissm...e-teams-2013-texas-longhorns-cant-be-stopped/So athletic revenues are way up when the football team is successful. Not really the point you were making, but sure, I believe it.
Devin is a 4.4 guy. Here are his track numbersThe site I'm using has him at 4.64. It's not affiliated with any team so I tend to trust it's numbers more - nfldraftscout.com.
Well, here you go. I guess Forbes is spewing smoke and mirrors too? Our athletic department spends more on academic scholarships than OSU's does. I found that surprising given your revenues are around the same as ours if not a little higher.Don't see anything about academic scholarships there... just more smoke and mirrors. Looks like it's all staying in the AD, as expected.
BTW it's considered fraud for organizations to reallocate earmarked donations to other purposes.
It's your money to donate as you please - but stop bsing that such donations have any connection to academics.

Florida led the way last year, contributing $7.2 million to academic programming, with $1.5 million of that earmarked for non-athletic scholarships. Alabama wasn’t far behind, providing nearly $6.5 million to the university to help pay for scholarships, faculty support and the school’s Acts of Kindness fund.
Correct. It seems that most alumni donate to the sports program. They also join more sports related clubs for alumni in order to get preferred seating at sporting events. The funds still seem to find their way to the front office for academic scholarships, etc.
Please, any other conference and Dak never gets mentioned in the same breath as the Heisman. He's just not very good. Neither is Miss St's offense compared to the level we're discussing here. They got where they did thanks to their D.
Mississippi State is ranked 9th in total offense. OSU 8th. However, MSU had a SOS ranking of 7, OSU had a SOS ranking of 38. I don't buy into SOS rankings much, but it is probable that Miss State played tougher competition and was ranked very close to OSU in total offense.
Quick google search of Dak and the Heisman:

Any of the local Columbus fans know of the best radio stations to listen to for OSU related talk?
I digress. My post was trying to convey that donating to the athletic department helps with the success of athletics, which in turn creates more revenue. This trickles down to more academic scholarships, which it does. I tried to be clear on that. i.e "trickle down". You have no idea how they mark donations to the AD. At the end of the day, its revenue. Do you troll your own message board often? Seems like all you come on here to do is argue with every poster that isn't in your kuji fan club. Try conversing without being confrontational. It's quite a bit more welcoming that way. That's not what it says at all. Once again I have to wonder why people with poor reading comprehension post on message boards.
BTW that's a grand total of 4.5% that goes to non-athletic stuff (not scholarships). And it's not coming from donations to the AD.
No matter how desperately you want to spin it, the following remains laughable bs:
Just think. What if Ole Miss had a great QB. They could have been undefeated. Thats the position that killed them this year.Skewed by three games. MSU does not run up the score.
MSU was very consistent and ranked #1 til they lost to bama on the road. They are a fantastic team.
