Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

Question for Bama fans: who are some of the better corners that Amari has had to go up against? I'm just curious where grant, our guy, would fall under. To give you a baseline, he's probably a 2nd or 3rd round type talent.

Hargreaves from Florida is expected to be a top 10 pick next year. Amari torched him for 200.

LSU is supposed to have a good secondAry as well. I think cooper only had about 80 yds in that one. Had four bad drops.

One man doesn't stop Amari. It has to be a defensive style. Lsu was able, as well as ole miss and Arkansas. They made sims uncomfortable. That's the best way to deal with cooper.

Is Cardale Jones a dual threat? He's capable of extending the pocket I know, but I'm wondering this because being a freshman, vast majority of them take off and run once they see that no one is down field instead of keeping their head up and buying more time. I know Pryor had that problem when he first started and then did a wonderful job in '10.

Nothing like jt, and obviously nothing even remotely close to braxton. Ignoring sack yardage, he'll have less than 50 yards most likey. Adding in sack yardage I'll guess 20-30 yards. He can move around, but by no means is he mobile to the point of being a true dual threat.

Probably easier to go down than you would expect really. Also just looked at the stats from last week and he'll probably have even less yardage. Outside of sacks hell probably have 20-30 yards, closer to 0-10 yards after sacks

I really think he's going to have to make himself an option to pick up 3-5 on selected 1st and 2nd downs in order to open up the edges for Jalin or Dontre on the read sweeps. If we can't get guys around the corners for decent yards on occasion then we'll have to live over the middle with passes and won't be able to utilize the TEs on short downs and in the red zone.

My point, I guess is that if Cardale doesn't establish that he can at least move the ball forward the offense is going become very predictable.

He's straight line speed just as good as JT but he doesn't have any wiggle or moves at all... As has been said he's pretty big so he doesn't go down very easily. He's capable running the ball though but by no means is he going to be relied on to run the ball

No, he's not. I've seen every playoff every game this year. The only time he goes done "easy" is when he wants to preserve himself, like he did once against Wiscy. Otherwise, he's gonna either truck your ass or jump your ass...
I'm not saying that a feather will knock him over, I'm saying that given the fact he's a 6'5" 250 pound giant of a QB, he doesn't run people over quite the way outsiders may expect. A guy that size and without watching him you may expect him to be like a Tebow and just plow over people all the time, and he just doesn't do that. I too have seen every play and there have been a handful where he plows people over, but he's not going to have 5-10 runs where he bowls people over. Probably more like 1-3.

Here's a good look at Joey Bosa:

He is a redshirt Sophmore. This is after spending a year at Fork Union Military Academy. He was recruited by Tressel. He has been 3 years in Meyers system. It's not like he was in High School this time last year.
