I've seen multiple Bama fans predict limited running from Cardale due to the lack of depth at QB. Frankly no one thought Cardale would be this good this quickly, so if fear of losing a QB was a factor, they would not have run JT Barrett like crazy. The offense is built around the option and constraints it puts on the offense, and they build a host of plays off of those. They will probably run Cardale less than JT, but that will be because of his skillset and the scheme more than any fears about injuries. JT was lost for the year on the type of running play that Cardale will run regularly.
As far as his style, he is more of a pro style passer that can move. Not unlike Sims, though larger and a touch less agile.
My concerns about Cardale are how well he will operate the option, how decisive he will be (especially against more athletic opposition) and how he will handle adversity. One or two of his deep balls were completed while getting drilled but his hit count will go through the roof in this game.
