Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

Cardale is no scrambler and Marshall will not be in the pocket...so what will it be pressure or contain? If Cardale gets time he will be fine likewise if you play to rush the passer can they still stop Zeke and Samuel? Its going to be one hell of a chess match...I hope Herman doesn't get too cute!
My understanding was that jones is as mobile as Prescott. But, I read that in the juvenile thread...

I think they will try a bit of everything with cj. There are going to be a lot of looks that dont exist on any tape. They will try to do on defense to osu, what they did on offense the first drive of the game to mizzou

Saban started that when we played against Tebow when Urban was with Florida. You push TO him. Not PAST him. Pretty affective, actually.

It's a calculated risk. If you trust your secondary to keep step with the receivers then it's a worthwhile strategy.

When your DBs are prone to busted coverages, having to force the QB to take 5-10 is sometimes a better option than having him find a guy behind the defense.

True enough. Onebuckfan said it best. It's going to be one hell of a chess match. Come on Jan. 1 !

Jones has good mobility but not as good laterally as JT or BM. The key for Herman is to find ways to keep your D off balance. Expect fast tempo, attacking the entire field. Marshall lining up in the Wildcat, etc. Hopefully we won't turn the ball over. This has been a problem for us on occasions.

Well he's done this so he's no stiff. But he isn't exactly quick and need more time to get going. Plus as said we might imit running him a bit unless no other choice due to protecting from injury.

Turnovers have been a problem for us too. We have a negative turnover margin. The fumbles have been very Poorly timed as well. See ole miss and lsu.

With the youth, pressure and Pac-12 refs the name of this game will be discipline.

I honestly think that the X's and O's are about as even as you can get in this game. It will come down to who makes the mistakes.
