Point is, Bama had their shot at LSU and lost. Of course, that's more an argument against playoffs generally, I suppose. "Settle it on the field" sort of stuff. Why did LSU have to play Bama on the field again when they had already proven to be better? What makes Bama better than LSU that season? Cuz they won game 2? Bullshit.

Of course, all that said, I don't know that I could argue that LSU and Alabama weren't the 2 best teams that season. Rare that they'd come from the same division/conference.. but.. possible

They're not going to analyze this very deeply.
But it's kind of ironic they continue to point to 2007 Florida when we have their Coach, and could've just as easily won a 2nd NC by whipping scUM twice.
One of the fundamental issues of that, for me, however was... why did LSU even bother playing in SEC CG? What's the point of the SEC CG if you're just going to send 2 teams from the same Division anyway?

Maybe but it was hilarious that Okie State had Alabama beat in both Strength of Schedule and number of ranked teams beaten not to mention they actually won their conference yet all of a sudden that didn't matter to SEC fans. All they had to go on that year was "B-b-but eye test!" and the fact that Okie State had lost to Iowa State the day of that horrible tragedy. Whoever said it was right, 2011 was the biggest farcical NC game of the BCS era, and that's saying something.
