And in an interesting tidbit, Richard Sandomir’s recap of the CFP semis at the New York Times mentions that a Buckeye official apparently had to correct Nessler during the game.
Nessler also made mistakes. He mispronounced Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones’s given name — it’s car-DALE, which sometimes sounds like car-DELL, but definitely not Kordell — until late in the first quarter, when a Buckeyes official informed ESPN otherwise. Nessler also declared a first down for Ohio State after a 12-yard gain on a third-and-20 play and seemed overly enamored of the phrase “off to the races.”
Jones was a relative unknown just over a month ago, but with him bursting on the scene in the Big Ten title game, one would think broadcasters would be able to get his name right. It’s best to learn it now, because in 20 years there’s going to be a lot more football players named Cardale coming out of the state of Ohio.

Does anyone know whether they ever re-air the SEC network alternate broadcast of the Sugar Bowl (with Finebaum and co)? Naturally their target audience would not be keen on tuning in, but I've heard the stunned silence was quite the spectacle.

I think they have re-aired it a couple times already (that's how I caught it) but my TWC program guide doesn't show any more airings in the next week.

It was how I watched this game and the Iron Bowl. It was fantastic. Greg McElroy is highly intelligent. The guys are quiet by nature, they strictly spent time discussing X's and O's. I learned more about football from watching that broadcast of those two games than I have any other way.

He's been that way all year. A few of us bama people worried about him before the game. He is smart enough to play, but he is too slow. He got trucked a few times by Dak Prescott too. He didn't see nearly as many snaps this game as he usually does. Ragland was in the game during the times Bama's D was performing well. When Ragland got injured, it was time for the 85 yd back breaker. I sure do hope Ragland doesn't go pro...

That got sent to be by two dozen people Saturday night! Coach Bow and Coach Cat reppin' well in NOLA. I know they didn't feel great on the drive back the next morning. I was watching the game safely from my couch...used up a lot of store credit with the wife going to Chicago for the New Zealand game and the B1G Championship in Indy.

They take them during commercial breaks and halftime. So you just don't watch it then. They are rough. In addition to the crazy Bama and Auburn fans, you get other weirdos too. Once guy would not shut up about Notre Dame until they hung up on him. There are a few Buckeye callers too. You don't want to listen to those either. They either came off as stupid or jerks.
Callers to radio and TV shows make me lose faith in humanity.

The one Buckeye I heard during the replay was terrible...pretty sure he was drunk.
McElroy was really impressive. The other guy...they can probably find someone better for that. The concept is awesome though, I'd watch that kind of presentation on BTN for every game given the opportunity.
