Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

Miami had been undefeated for a while and OSU had been squeaking by teams enough to be called the luck eyes.

This game is a three point spread with an extra seven tacked on for the cardale jones factor.

Most computers have bama with a 60% chance of winning and the average margin being about 5 points.

While an OSU win may not be the expected outcome, it wouldn't be shocking.
Per a survey of college coaches done by espn, 90% belive bama wins. Of 43 media members on espn only 1 had osu. Assuming that's how most people feel, I think "shocking the world" works.

Do you guys agree with this article? A lot of the names seem match who I have been hearing here.

I would also toss in Curtis Samuel and Dontre Wilson (if he plays) -- both are speed guys who have incredible bursts. Add Raekwon McMillan for good measure. Kid is a beast of a true freshman that has developed early enough to take playing time away from our senior LB. He could be a difference maker in this game if given enough time.

Just because you have to pick a team, doesn't mean you would be shocked if they lost. I think bama will win too. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if not.
You and some others have been a welcome addition because of your departure from the normal viewpoint (particularly your ability to recognize the possibility of a different outcome).

Between:

10-12 pt spread
"___" cuz SEC
Bama being the dynasty of CFB
4 NCs for Saban
OSU 0-9 vs SEC (though the SEC has a current 1 game losing streak vs OSU :p)
Urban 1-2 vs Saban including last 2
Saban owning Urban caused him to quit.
Buckeyes' down to their 3rd string QB
Buckeyes' controversial berth over TCU/Baylor now under renewed scrutiny

I'd say it would be a pretty shocking upset. Those who know bama well realize this is a more flawed Bama squad and that their weaknesses align perfectly with OSU's strengths, but that's a level of insight that you won't find on ESPN. You will hear a lot about how good John Bosa is though.

First, I love how many OSU fans are really over-playing the underdog card, while more and more Bama fans are downplaying Bama's position as a heavy favorite.

I don't put much weight in the simulations, but USA Today's gives Bama a 70% chance and 9 point average MOV. I think it is pretty brazen to say that a team would beat another team 7 out of 10 times. The 7 point tack on you mention is less a Cardale factor and more of an OSU is one hit away from a WR playing QB consideration.

I wouldn't call it a shocking upset, but if you see the game like most non-OSU and non-Bama fans, it wouldn't be too far off.

1. Like I said. It's a three point spread with an extra seven for cj. You're not going to be a favorite with an inexperienced qb.
2.yeah. Past sec experience has been great (dominant) but most realize other teams are catching up.
3. Ask Cowturd about the dynasty.
4. He has a good history with time to prepare. Very good.
5. Past performance of OSU will have no effect on this game.
6. True.
7. True. He did turn urban into Fred Sanford.
8. Also true. Will the advantages of not allowing Saban to prepare negate the inexperience?
9. Win convincingly and there won't be any scrutiny.

Man, I was just pumped up (half of it due to my pre-worout powder) for the game. Didn't mean to stir a debate....

That said, I think outside of Buckeye nation people expect Alabama to roll us.
They do, but most of them can't tell you much if anything about EITHER team. If I had a parrot and left my tv on Sportcenter all day it would sound just like most "sports fans" I know.
