Arkansas is the biggest culprit.
they've won the division like twice ever and pretty much never finish higher than 3rd place.

but seemingly every year (minus the John L. Smith fiasco) they mange to either beat or score the shit out of someone at the top of the division.

the 2 Missishitty schools do the same thing to a lesser extent.

....Purdue/Penn State are interchangable. Here in Philly, I absolutely love being able to tell PSU fan they're basically Purdue as it pertains to football relevancy to Ohio State, being they have the same number of wins over OSU since 2002. It pisses them off something awful, and warms my icy cold heart.

This is exactly what I was trying to say, but you said it better. Arkansas, Ole Miss, UT, and Miss St. are all capable of winning, they usually don't though.

Really? Last year was the first time in a long time that either were remotely relevant. Now we're supposed to act as if they've been doing it for a decade. This is how SEC myth works.
And thanks to bowl season we know the entire division was grossly over-rated -- neither Miss school was that good, they only managed to get inflated rankings b/c some of the big programs are down and ESECPN's market interest to make the bottom of the SEC sound like world beaters.


The fact that Aggy was able to slide right in and perform at the same level demonstrates a cold hard reality about the middle and bottom of SEC West -- it's the same as everywhere else. With LSU and Auburn in a rut, it's not better than anywhere else in the country with 1 elite team.

And don't even get me started on Arkansas... the laughable notion that it was just 2012 they sucked. Arkansas is 6-22 against P5 schools since Petrino left... including 2 losses to RUTGERS :lol:
GTFO of here with this "it's so tough everyone beats each other up" schtick.

in fact I point blank said they basically never contend for even the division title let alone anything above that.

I didn't even say everyone beats each other up.

I just said Arkansas is notorious for stepping up and beating someone they shouldn't almost every year.
They're also notorious for never being good enough to win anything else. ever.

it's who they've been for 2 decades now.

Who did Arky beat in 2012? 3-9 Auburn and Kentucky?
Who did they beat in 2013? Samford?
The only team they've "upset" in recent history was 2014 LSU (8-5)... but not really that big of an upset, and LSU's season was hardly ruined by that loss.
And 2015? Another bad Auburn team and what? Tennessee?

Give me a single conference rival in the post-Petrino era whose season Arkansas has ruined...

last year they lost by 1 to Bama.
2013 they nearly upset 10 win LSU.

2012 (the John L Smith year) is the only year they didn't do exactly like said they do.


I get it. you hate the SEC. and had you read any of my posting history here or any other site I frequent, you'd know I hate every one of those bastards not named LSU too. and will not root for any of those cocksuckers unless a win by them directly affects LSU in the conference standings.

not sure why you insist on spinning what I said into me inflating the pig fuckers from Fayetteville.

The SEC is overinflated every year now because they had a run where there were 3 really good teams in the west beating eachother up with LSU Auburn and Bama. Even in the years LSU lost a lot of games they still looked like a really good team. Now the entire conference only looks to have 3 really good teams, which is on par with most other conferences, the bottom of the conference is terrible, and I don't see much of a middle ground. Tennessee, Miss St, Ole Miss and maybe aTm. The other 8 teams are freaking god awful. In the west Bama and LSU look very impressive, but also have bad weeks which is what all the top teams in the country have done. Miss State and Ole Miss are the perennial dumpster fires of the conference. Every conference has them, and about 1-2 years every 20 when they pieces fall in place and they will have really good teams with some build up and drop off. MSU's year was last year, they were good, but they are falling off and quickly. They look really bad when you watch them play. They lost most of their talent, and when Dak leaves that will be it for them. 8-4 and 7-5 for the next decade. For ole miss I think this year was their team, but now they look kind of like shit. If they don't do it this year, they will never. Next year will be a really bad year for them, and then it's back to fighting for 6-6. aTm is just living off of their win over bama so many years ago. They always play their shit OOC games, beat one or two bad teams from the east and then play one of the bad but overrated west teams and they skyrocket up the rankings. Then they play a real team from the conference and show their true selves. They are the perfect example of a mediocre team. They will never sniff Atlanta. They will get an 11 win year once a decade and other than that are 8 or 9 wins. Arkansas is a joke. I can't believe they ever had a few good years with petrino. It's like SC when Spurrier came in. Got to a punching bag school and made them win games, when they coach leaves they go back to their shit ways. Arkansas may never be good again, they will be lucky to win 3-4 conference games a year.

That's literally been their MO for a decade. I don't know how Georgia could fuck up this badly this year though. Even without Chubb they should be able to run the ball at will with their loaded backfield. I shudder to think what a competent coach could do at that university.
