I think this will be Spurrier's last season as the head Cock. Lost at home to Kentucky, getting trounced between the hedges, and the one thing he was supposedly good at is no longer good. There's no fun in the gun anymore.

Spurrier retired today, effective immediately. That was fast.

Who in the hell is in the Atlantic?

Clemson, FSU, and Louisville.

Louisville is only 3-4, but they've also played Auburn, Houston, Clemson, and FSU. It was a difficult, front-loaded schedule. They have a win over NC State, who is 5-2 and also in the Atlantic, and the losses to Houston and Clemson (both undefeated) were by a FG. The three teams at the top of the Atlantic would be competitive with the top three teams from any other conference division, IMHO.

The problem is the other four in that division -- NC State, Syracuse, Boston College, Wake Forest -- are not very good.

Damn it! I wasn't asking for a legitimate reply. We may need a SEC SEC SEC Shenanigans thread if this keeps up.

They're dangerous against [Mark May] teams and a couple of them have had Alabama's number. Other than that they're the same crap teams they've always been.

they're exactly who they have always been. And it's what makes life in this division so damn frustrating sometimes.

none of them are ever good enough to seriously contend for division/conference/national titles.

but every year 2-3 are just good enough to force you to have to bring your A game to beat them. if you don't show up ready, they're ruining your season.

This is basically what Purdue was to Ohio State for 15 years before they really went into the toilet two years ago.
