2015 Offense Discussion

http://theozone.net/Ohio-State/All-...ner-Couldnt-Be-More-Excited-About-OSU-Offense

As we get closer to the season, I'm feeling more comfortable with WRs stepping alongside Thomas. There's just so much depth along the entire offense that idk of a team in the nation(and I'm not trying to be biased here) that has our blend of depth and experience. 3 RBs with game time experience, both TEs with game reps, multiple OL with game reps, and I everyone knows about the QBs

We have so many guys at skill positions it's ridiculous. The pessimist in me wonders how Urban will be able to maintain recruiting classes with the inevitable backlog at those positions coupled with some imminent transfers... it's an amazing problem to have though.

BOLD PROJECTIONS: A LOOK AT POTENTIAL PRODUCTION FROM OHIO STATE'S TIGHT ENDS IN 2015

55439_h.jpg,qitok=P9AGwSiD.pagespeed.ce.fjqnzaCtBk.jpg

Ezekiel Elliott deservedly gets plenty of attention for his performance in Ohio State's 42-20 downing of Oregon in the inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship game, but Nick Vannett was the guy that put the Buckeyes head for good that night in North Texas.

Elliott scourged the Ducks for 246 rushing yards and four touchdowns on his way to Most Valuable Player honors Jan. 12 — a performance deserving of the shine that came along with it.

Lest we forget Vannett, who even though only made two grabs in the game, snagged a bullet from Cardale Jones late in the first quarter and fell into the end zone at the one-yard line to give Ohio State a lead they'd never relinquish.

Departed senior Jeff Heuerman didn't record a reception against the Ducks that night, but the duo's blocking on the edge helped spring Elliott for the biggest rushing total of his career on the biggest stage imaginable.

Such is life as a tight end.

Been thinking the loss of TH isn't talked about nearly enough with regards to potential worries to repeat. I was a little critical of him after the VTech loss but I quickly took a different approach. TH was a bright mind, obviously. I absolutely love EW, huge we got to keep him as he's the best OLine coach around. And I know that Urb is heavily involved in the offense. Still it will be interesting to see how the team responds to a different guy behind the wheel of the Ferrari. If there was one player or coach we could have kept for '15 it's hard not to say TH. Mike B is in the conversation of course but I just think it isn't talked about enough that we have a new play caller and I think it's a mistake not to consider that a potential hick up. TH had us rolling in the NC run.

Just sayin': I read Hornung's book...

and would have guessed that the Paul Hornung Award was the player most likely to sneak out after curfew the night before a big game, pick up women in a bar, stay out drinking and screwing the women all night, and play a great game after getting no (or very little) sleep, etc.

At least that is what he claimed did.

K.. you're the opposing teams DC
Bucks open with Barrett/Cordale under center, Zeke in the backfield, Thomas as a wideout, Vannett at TE
then Braxton and Marshall fill in the field...

and you've run out of Tums

And don't forget when they want breathers, you got Curtis Samuel/Dunn/Weber at RB, Baugh at TE and then Wilson and Campbell in the slot. Not to mention a healthy rotation of Smith, Brown, McLaurin, Dixon and Hill at WR. Yikes

On paper, this offense should be pretty freaking epic. Offenses like this have usually been so fun to watch but teams with these type of offense were considered soft because their defenses were suspect, or their Oline was more finesse, not this team. 2 of the best QBs in the nation(honestly who cares who starts, lol)
arguably the best RB in the nation
Arguably a top 5-10 WR in the nation, and not to mention one of the best WR corp in the nation
The deepest and most talented HB/slot corp in the nation
And if utilized correctly one of the best TEs in the nation
And THE best Oline in the nation
Defenses better be scared, Va Tech you're fthe first victim, these boys are on a mission
