Re-watched the 2010 Rose Bowl which the Buckeyes won 26 - 17. Oregon had Massoli, Blount, James and Barner on offense and Chip Kelly on the sideline. OSU had a young Pryor, Posey, Sanz, Zoom and Boom @ RB and Tress on the sideline. IMO, the big diff in this game was TOP in favor of our Buckeyes. Heacock and Fick called a great game on defense. With that said what a difference 5 years, two new head coaches, and new players and schemes make.

This Oregon team plays faster and appear deeper than the Chip Kelly version of the Ducks. But guess what? So are the Buckeyes.

This game should be a shoot-out. Two-high powered offenses with talent all over the place for each team. The more I have read and listened to about this game, the more I think this game will fall on the shoulders of the Buckeye defense to "CONTAIN" Marcus Marriota and keep the Oregon touches on offense to a minimum.

I think the Buckeye offense will be able to do what it wants on offense against the Oregon defense but the Buckeyes must keep MM in check.

Hard to believe (as others have pointed out) Ohio State has played against the three 2014 finalist for the Heisman and ultimate winner: Gordon III, Cooper, and now MM. Has any other team played against the final three in recent history?

If you read the accompanying article on the ESPN site, it even states that it makes little, if any, difference...but by tweeting it and putting up a link on the main college football page it accomplishes their mission of making folks think that mean old, cheating Ohio State gets an unfair advantage.

The one place where it probably does help, even if slightly, is the mental side of it, since you can focus solely on the game. But physical practice time will have virtually no effect.

Oregon isn't on semesters. They are on quarters.

Well this year that really hasn't been our strength. We've been statistically very strong vs the pass. Most likely due to focusing on stopping the pass first instead of the run first after seeing where that got us last year. As for Oregon and their defense against the run, I couldn't say.

Langford, Coleman, Cobb, Gordon, and then Yeldon and Henry. Do you think the Ducks faced six future NFL running backs this year? I don't.

Re-watched the 2015 Rose Bowl and continue to feel really good about Ohio State in this game.

FSU was sleepwalking through that game (failed to convert for TDs in red zone on three straight drives to open the game) with bad play calling (crushing them on the ground but tried to get fancing with screens for some reason) and no leadership (Winston, need I say more?) and they still moved the ball with relative ease.

They even got several stops on D before losing all momentum (thanks to uninspired performances in the red zone and turnovers) and completely giving up.

I feel good- really good about what Ohio State is about to do in this game.
