Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

Now that we finally got the monkey off our back, with the win over Bama, it seems like we are being very careful about Oregon. Looking at the stat sheets, we seem to be in favor of a win. To me watching the Alabama game was like winning our own personal championship game after all these years of waiting. Now we are in a different mode of play against Oregon. Its been said that, the one who wins the Heisman will be jinxed if they play in a N/C game. That was true for us when Smith won it and Urban beat us while at Florida in 2007. Maybe the same can be true against Mariota and Oregon.

Yeah, it just worked out this way. I live in San Antonio now, and my nephew (who lives in Cincinnati) is coming to Big D on business anyway. Figured "What the Hell, you only live once".

Anyway, just thought there might be a few "Dallas Bucks" on the sight who might have a good tip or two. I'm sure we'll figure it out. Sunday and Monday can't come fast enough.

GO BUCKS!!!

Doesn't Ohio State have a big Allumni fan base In the state of Texas. It will be interesting to see how many fans will be there from Oregon

I'm also a Red Sox fan (lived in Vermont for ten years as a kid) and that win over 'Bama feels a lot like the 2004 Sox' comeback from a 3-0 deficit to beat the Yankees in the ALCS: Once that happened I had zero doubts about the World Series. I'm not quite that confident here, but I do expect the Buckeyes to win.

Last night when I checked StubHub it looked like at least 75% of the available tix were on the Oregon side. I really hope that OSU fans snatch them up instead of waiting for some to come available on the OSU side and just take over the stadium in a sea of scarlet.

EDIT:  at the person trying to unload an end zone suite ticket for $240k.

I am part of the Ownership Group that Owns the Fishbone Grill Across from Cowboys Stadium. I am an Ohio Native, born and raised just south of Cleveland, Nordonia HS Alumni, and have a great opportunity for Buckeyes fans to come to our tailgate at the Fishbone Grill.
We are the Closest Tailgate to the stadium and give you the best value, as tailgate tavern is more the double our price for their tailgate party

We feature all the food you can eat (Texas BBQ Style Brisket and Sausage with all the fixings) and an Open Bar Tailgate Party from 4:30 till 7:30 when the game kicks off.

We would love to see our tailgate packed with Buckeye Fans!

You're right. I hate to say it, but that Bama game was my National Championship. Joey Galloway was talking about this the other night, too. That is definitely the feeling. As strange as it is, I won't be anywhere near as disappointed if we lose this game as I would have been had we lost to Bama. It's an odd feeling, but this team has erased a lot of built up narrative and lifted the weight off of our shoulders with that win. I'm incredibly proud of them and that won't change if we don't pull out the W next week.

WITH THAT SAID...

GO BUCKS! THIS IS OUR YEAR. GIVE THAT TROPHY HERE, AND DON'T. SAY. NOTHIN'!!!

A lot of fans feel that way. And while I hope none of the players had that feeling, I believe the fact they had 11 days and not 7 between the semi-final and final is a huge advantage for the Bucks. Not only extra time to get over the very physical game they had, but also a couple days to mentally enjoy the victory and still have plenty of time to focus on the Ducks. Plus, they have the best coach possible to get them prepared and ready.

Only reason I want OSU to beat Oregon is because I don't want OSU to be the team that gave Oregon their first national championship.

Great post here "Tele" I feel the same way as you do. I was so very sad when Jim Tressel resigned and thought to myself "Who will ever replace a great coach like him " Now my mind has been changed in a BIG way. Very anxious and excited about the 2015 season for Ohio State. I guess I am putting cart before the horse here but like you stated, I would not feel too bad if we lost the N/C but yet if we win, my goodness what more could we ask for.

Face Tickets from U of O available to the public:

Surprised they did not sell them out. Still, $470 for a ticket is pricey. Hmmmmmmmm.....

BuckDubs : In your post here - I noticed the seven buckeye leaves you display. I have seen them before and I happened to wonder if they mean something. Maybe like, they stand for all the Heisman Trophy winners we have at Ohio State?. Just wondering.

I know, I know. I really need to change this username. Stupid old gamertags with semi-sentimental value.

TK works if that helps.

But yeah, I completely agree. The future is so bright, I could never be crushed about it. Disappointed, definitely. Mostly because I want THIS group to win it all. They deserve it. But if not? I have a feeling we'll be back in position sooner than later for the title.
