Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

Langford, Coleman, Cobb, Gordon, and then Yeldon and Henry. Do you think the Ducks faced six future NFL running backs this year? I don't.
This is a legitimate point. Now, they still have a great running back themselves who will get yards (especially if we add extra focus to Mariotta), but you're right that would lead one to believe that they won't run all over us even more than our averages.

I have a funny feeling OSU fans will not only out number Oregon fans (which I'm already expecting), but drastically out number them. Maybe like 65/35 or 70/30. Obviously this is just one website (see link below), and still pretty early, but they have traffic being 25% from Ohio and 19% from Oregon. That right there is 57% for OSU. Then factor in that Texas is actually closer to Ohio than it is for Oregon (and surprisingly much closer even though it's still far away for OSU, like twice as close for OSU), so nearby alum/fans will be closer to TX for OSU than for Oregon. Lastly, OSU obviously has many, many more fans, so even in TX there will be many more OSU fans than Oregon fans. If I'm an Oregon fan I'm hoping for a 55/45, maybe 60/40 split for OSU. But it could get crazy.

Edit: Here's another site that says their company (sounds like could be a small company though) had been fielding calls for packages at a 90/10 rate for OSU/Oregon.

Who's Troy Hill? Or better yet, should I give a [Mark May]?

The next guy to get burned by Devin?
He's the backup for their star CB whose name I cannot spell.

And even then our stats are better against the run. Less rushing yards/game, less yards per carry, etc. - Oregon is like 50th in the nation.

Their only statistical advantage is Offensive Turnovers. Oregon has the least in the country with 0.7 per game.
If we don't spot them 14 points on turnovers - I like our defense' chances to get more stops.

I expect this to a mostly RED in the crowd... They'll have their own section but I assure you it'll be far more closer to 70/30 then it will be 50/50

Kiippy:

1942 Bucks go 9 - 1, season doesn't end with the Michigan game, the next week they play Iowa Pre-Flight in the shoe. Lone loss is to Wiscy in Madison after several players get sick from water on the train. Boston College loses its last game and AP names the Bucks as National Champs. Bowl games were labeled as exhibitions and thus most sources named their champion at the end of the regular season. Big Ten did not permit teams to go to any bowl game other than the Rose... think segregation... Les Horvath wins the Heisman. Georgia (11 - 1) goes to Rose Bowl and beats UCLA 9 - zip and is voted NC by several sources that vote after the exhibition games are over. (Like that spin?)

1954, Bucks go 10 - 0, Beat Michigan 21 - 7 in one of the best "The Game" in history, stopping Michigan after a first and goal on the two then driving 99.5 yards to take a 14 - 7 lead. Beat USC 21 - 7 and voted Champs by AP. Hopalong Cassidy wins the Heisman.

1957, Lose opener to TCU in Columbus, then reel off 9 straight victories beating Oregon in the Rose Bowl 10 - 7. UPI and Coaches vote Bucks 1, AP votes Auburn 1, Bucks 2.

1961, (My Freshman year) Bucks go 8 - 0 - 1. Tie TCU 7 - 7 in opener as Hayes refuses to pass. Lay 50 on Michigan at Ann Arbor. Faculty council votes to turn down Rose Bowl invitation. OSU voted NC in Coaches Poll. Alabama goes 11 - 0 and is voted NC by UPI, AP.

1968, (I get up at 03:00 hours to hear game live on AFVN radio) Buckeyes go 10 - 0 including stomping of #1 Purdue and #4 Michigan, then run down USC and OJ. I collect $150 from loud mouth lieutenant from USC who boasts about how OJ is going to run all over the Buckeyes. God, was that ever a grand moment when the SOB had to pay up. Bucks voted #1 in AP and Coaches.

2002, Buckeyes given last rites the moment they are selected to play Miami in first BCSCG. Miami fans vote the Kaddish to be Ohio State's alma mater. Buckeyes overcome Miami team and the Zebras to win undisputed NC. Team and fans sing Carmen Ohio, while Miami fans book flights to the Wailing Wall.

1933 Ohio State had been awarded a National Championship via the Dunkel System in 1933, with Michigan, Princeton and Southern California also being given titles by different ranking systems. Loses to Michigan 13 - 0 in Ann Arbor.

Soooooo after reading this about all of tOSU National Championships, something there caught my attention. When OSU played Miami, it was the first BCS era National Championship? If so, then the Bucks could also be the first to win the College Playoff Championship. I didn't realize this, and would make it even more enjoyable if they get the "W" next Monday night.

It was starting to look like I'd failed to convince 2 buddies to make the trek, but one had a change of heart and I pulled the trigger on flights earlier today. This will actually be my first OSU game in person..would be pretty special for it to be a national championship win. Now I'm just hoping tickets continue to drop.. Stubhub had ~4800 available this morning but then that dropped to 2900 despite it saying less than 700 had sold in the past 24 hours..would love to know how that fuzzy math nets out.

Anyone have insight into whether the worst tickets will likely continue to drop in price or if we've probably hit a floor since they're hovering at around face value now?

For the online marketplaces, especially StubHub, I'd expect them to drop no more than $50, maybe $100 from where they are now unless some sellers get antsy (saw a block of tickets in the high $200 range that were gone in minutes earlier today) or fans flood the market with more tickets. If you really want in the door for lower than face, your best bet is likely to be trying to get them the day before in Dallas, or day of. I haven't seen too many electronic transfer options noted on the cheap seats on StubHub, unless they're not stating it and they really are.
