Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

I have no sympathy for the "kid" (really he's an adult) that chose to smoke pot days before the biggest game of his young career. We're not talking about him doing something that others did as well and yhe NCAA is overreacting on. No, he willingly chose to do this on his own while the entire 80 something players on his own team didnt. The stadium will be filled with over one hundred and sixty players that decided not to smoke pot. He has only himself to blame. Let's be real, these players have to have known they would be tested. If this we're an injury I would not be happy, but it's not so I'm going to continue smiling. He's still is young and has plenty of time to make up for it.

Remember this is battle. In a battle you must either force your opponent into making a mistake or watch him make a mistake on his own you then capitalize on every one of those mistakes. If Oregon players want to keep shioting themselves in their webbed feet, by all means go for it.

I don't feel sorry for the kid but definitely for his teammates. What a shitty thing to do to your squad. They've worked their asses off this entire year for you to get suspended for dope.

Anyways that's life and will the ducks have the heart to move past it? Because tOSU has shown they can!

I won't shed a tear (its the rules), but seriously, this isn't a dude smoking away millions of dollars like what we've seen in the NFL. I hope this dude figures it out. Tough fucking lesson to learn in the grand scheme of things. There's a reason I like college football and not the NFL. These guys play because they love it. But they got to act off the field like they love it. He smoked a little shit. He didn't Jamesis a chick. The "raped a chick" tests seem to always come back negative and goddamnit, I ain't down with that...

Oregon faster, but Ohio State more talented? If Oregon's skill players are faster than Ohio State's they must have recruited Hussein Bolt. Mariota is certainly faster than Cardale, but that seems to me to be the only case of speed difference.

It's all that West Coast speed don't ya know.
No offense to people who wear A&F, but they don't make anything that any man should wear. At least if you're past the age of 18.

I'm sure Zander Diamont disagrees
What amazes me is appealing it? For fucking what? I get that it was denied but seriously trying to appeal it? I get what we did with Noah due to the classification but if you tested positive for pot why even appeal it?

That's like saying oh come on it's a big game just let him play and then we will punish him with sprints in spring ball... For the record we did the same with Tat gate but I didn't agree with playing our guys at all. We would've got rolled but that's the price you pay for screwing up... You don't get to serve the penalty when it's most convenient for your team.

We didn't appeal for that.
That was just a straight-up money grab by NCAA. They knew if they suspended those 5 players for the Sugar Bowl, nobody would go or watch - they'd lose a lot of money. So NCAA told us to play them, then vacated when we won it. It was a very profitable bait-and-switch for them.
Lesson learned - next time, just don't play them and demand the bowl game be counted as part of their suspension.

Well, it's late, but I just finished watching the suckfest that was the Rose Bowl. Here are my three big takeaways after sitting through the entire bloody afair:

1. Oregon's defense looked like hot garbage.

2. Winston had forever and a day to throw the ball, and they were able to run all over Oregon's defense.

3. Despite that, FSU played like absolute hog slop. They shot themselves in the face all night long with penalties, turnovers, atrocious throws, and finally more turnovers.

If the Bucks play the way they have in the last two games, I see no reason why they shouldn't cruise to victory. Oregon looks like they can't tackle worth a damn and they are extremely vulnerable against the run. After watching the Rose Bowl footage, my confidence just shot way up in getting the W.

Also of note is that this kid who just got suspended grabbed two TDs with 165 yards in that game against FSU.

Just my quick take on it. It's 4AM and I'm about to go watch another Ducks game, because my adrenaline is pumping for this game and I want to know if they can put together a better performance than they did against FSU in a game that was all but gift wrapped for them.

In reality, though... Mariota's the vehicle, he just busted a couple of headlights.

Have you ever tried driving down a dark road with no headlights? No fun and very difficult even on a straight road. Well Oregon is driving with no headlights, down a winding road on the Pacific Coast Hwy, while drunk... That's what Mariotta is dealing with in the NC game without these 2 WRs and against a hungry Buckeye defense that's been disrespected this entire season and just overcome the mighty Crimson Tide.

The Washington State game is interesting.

Total yards: Oregon ~ 501 / Washington State ~ 499 /// Final Score: 38-31 /// WS had two turnovers, as indeed, Oregon lived on turnovers all season long. The difference in the Michigan State game was two turnovers and MS had to settle for two field goals instead of td's.

Total Yards: Oregon ~ 491 / MS ~ 466

Stanford was the only Pac-12 team w/a solid defense.

As always, lies, damn lies and statistics.
