Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

Kind of hard to tackle when you are a "skinny" team as a whole. I believe it was Eddie George who said it before the game that he was surprised at how small Oregon was and that they would have a tough time being physical with us and that is exactly what happened

The exact same thing was said back in our previous meeting with "Oregon Speed".
We see how that hasn't changed.

...Look back at the 2006 championship thread here, we had TONS of excuses. If Ginn had not been injured, or as people said around Cbus, that Troy didn't take the game seriously, there were tons. In the end, we just had to say "we got our asses kicked." The Ducks fans will sooner or later accept it, until then though, you have to admit, it's kind of amusing to watch.

There's no disputing that Florida delivered a beatdown in that game. But 8 years on, I don't believe 42-14 was an accurate reflection of the general caliber of those teams.

Fuck Oregon.

Ohio State wins that game 10 times out of 10.

Also looked at an Oregon forum the other day and kept hearing they forced (4) turnovers. Actually, the first was a gift, the second they forced and the last 2 were gifts. Bottom line, the Buckeyes were stronger, more focused, more intense, better coached by a wide margin and as Mack Brown mentioned, Ohio State had better talent.

Again, why was Oregon favored ?!? Rhetorical. ok, they beat FSU by a gazillion pts. after (5) turnovers. btw, FSU had 528 yards and 28 first downs. Oregon's game plan ~ be ahead by a couple td's late in the third when the Ducks tend to run out of gas or else they're in trouble. Against weaker teams this is a good plan. Against elite teams they're toast!

Next year they don't win the Pac 12, even if they had Mariota.

>

Part of Ohio State's problem in 2006 was they had already played their "bowl game" against UM ranked #2 in the country and then the longgg lay off. It was very hard for them not to be overconfident. Now if Ohio State had played UM in a rematch, which they should have, they would have been totally motivated. Woulda, coulda, shoulda ...

Indeed, as both the Buckeyes and Urban Meyer have come full circle. Love it when a plan comes together.

Meyer's problem the first year, 2011, was motivation ie the Buckeye's had nothing to play for since they weren't bowl eligible and couldn't play in the B1G championship because of NCAA sanctions. Did I mention Meyer is a very good head coach. I digress.

Oregon's only competition in the PAC North next year would be Washington and they aren't good enough.

The PAC South is U$C and that's about it. fUCLA loses everyone. It's entirely possible they would win the PAC 12 with mariota for another year.

UFM's first year was 2012.

Colin Cowherd mentioned a couple weeks ago there's a reason teams run the hurry-up offense as they can't compete otherwise against the really good teams er mano y mano. It's also a high risk offense and ironic the Buckeyes were the team with 4 turnovers which kept Oregon in the game and the Ducks basically had none.

If you look at every game except for the FSU game that Oregon plays a traditional physical team their offense is not as good as advertised. That is why teams like LA Tech are able to do decent every year is the offense is built to pummel weaker teams.
