Game Thread 2015 National Championship Game: (2) Oregon vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 12th @ 8:30p ET, ESPN

I
Really I can't believe that I haven't seen one single duck show up yet. ..
If theyou have I must've missed it.
I don't really care if their fans show up, but I'd definitely appreciate a visit from some of their cheerleaders.

I'd add
- Oregon will not learn how to stop in the run in the next week.

Ohio State has played #1, #3, and #4 rushing defenses in the country with success... don't think #49 is going to stop Eze, Samuel, Truckdale, Jalin, and possibly Dontre.

Best case scenario - our offense and special teams don't sabotage themselves with turnovers, and defense keeps Oregon in the 30s while offense cruises into the 50s.
Worst case scenario - it's a shootout to the end

Why can't best case scenario have the BUCKEYE defense getting 39 sacks?

You never know how a game is going to go. But here are a few things I am confident of:

- tOSU will not turn the ball over 5 times
- The Oregon punter will not average 50-60 yds a punt and pin tOSU back on its 5 yd. line 3-4 times.
This is how and why I think we are going to win this game... Both offenses can move the ball and both are going to get their yards but which offense is going to be forced to drive the length of the field more frequently? So far until Bama Cam Johnston was by far the best punter in all of our games and in this game he will once again be the best punter.

Lets just say we get the ball at the 5 yard line against Oregon do you really think they're going to be able to do what Bama did and stop our run game? 2-3 runs after getting the ball inside the 5 against Oregon and we will be 15-20 yards down the field... They will not be able to consistently get the stops they need in order to negate Cam's placement and his bombs he can get off. So as you said as long as we don't turn the ball to give them good field position I feel they will be trying to drive 80+ yards every drive and they will get some but consistently? No I don't think so...

This game will be about who will control the LOS, who will rush for more yards, and of course who makes the mistakes to give someone a short field.

I really, really like our chances in this game. We are operating on an extremely high level. FSU had 5 turnovers and still racked up 528yds of offense, anyone really think we will be shy of that? We will move the ball fairly easily. Mariota is legit, BUT, he is about to face the best front 7 of their season. They will get their yards, but I totally believe our D line will handle their O line enough to keep them slowed down. Very reminiscent of the last time we faced the Ducks...Rose Bowlesque.

The more I study, the more I agree with you. A run game is very important in championship games because it is unaffected by nerves. It gives you something easy to go to in the first quarter. Then, you have established physical dominance.
