I turn on the game and sparty is up 5 with just over a minute to go and izzo is still crying and pouting even after getting a foul call. The guy wins but dammit I can't stand him and his crybaby tactics

Was going to mention the same observation from watching. Every shot they had of him on the sideline was him crying to a ref, always in their ear. Tons of respect for him, but that aspect is ridiculous.

And dear God Costello was completely over the top annoying too. They acted like they won the damn NCAA title last night.

I thought the same thing. Maryland's got a nice team this year, but beating them in your own backyard isn't exactly the biggest accomplishment in the history of college basketball. Hell, Michigan did it this year, and they're garbage.

Something isn't right with this Purdue team. They have not impressed me at all in 2016. Way too much talent to be playing like they are...and I actually think very highly of Painter as a coach, so I'm not sure what's going on- a point that even good coaches have struggles with teams that are just hard to explain.

No matter, they just really aren't good right now.

Yesterday's game for Purdue was against Iowa (who is very good), and the game was in Iowa City. So not sure you can dog Purdue too much for that loss. But overall, I agree with you--case in point, there's no way we should've been beating them in their backyard at halftime and hanging around for most of that game.

True. And I am likely underrating Iowa a little this year- call it an overcorrection from being so high on them the last 2 years and getting burned.

But my opinion is more to your second point- the Boilermakers let OSU hang around at home and lost to Illinois. Feel like they have too much talent for those results.
