Looks like another crowd of about 400 made the trek to beautiful Boise for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. :slappy:

It will mean something to the Zips, though. They're about to get the first bowl victory in school history.

Boise is actually not bad of a town--especially if you enjoy the outdoors. Or good beer. December wouldn't be my ideal time to visit but you can be skiing at Bogus Basin in less than 30 minutes (it's literally on the edge of town). And congrats to the Zips on the big win!

Notre Dame got too much credit for their late TD win over Temple, 24-20.

Toledo lead Temple 25-9 with 5 minutes to play. The Owls haven't scored a touchdown.

It's been a pretty good day for the MAC (and, more particularly, Ohio MAC teams)--the Zips and the Rockets each are bringing home a bowl game win.

Love watching these MAC teams perform well in the Bowl Games. These kids are all very very good football players, and they show it every year hanging tough with the REAL big boys. We've certainly seen it here enough times. The thing that separates the MAC schools from the Ohio States, Michigans, Notre Dames, Floridas, Alabamas, and so on is depth. A very good MAC team is pretty much one-deep as opposed to two or three deep for the Powerhouse schools. As a resut, they hang tough for 3-3 1/2 quarters but eventually get worn down. Against these mid-tier teams like Appy-State, Utah State, and Temple they are just as deep and therefore are just as likely to win as their opponents if not moreso.

Peace, Merry Christmas to all, and continued best wishes for the remaining MAC teams that will see Bowl MAC-tion!

I thought BG got screwed going to Mobile instead of San Diego. I also thought BGSU-Boise and NIU-GaSo were better match ups. Boise-NIU was a dud. Let's see how BGSU-GaSo plays out.

BG special teams so far: had an XP blocked and returned for a score, fair caught a punt on the 3 yard line. :hoke:

9-6 GSU
