Some of us are trying wayyyyyy too hard to hate on both of these teams right now. Fuck both of 'em....
I don't think it requires a lot of trying. FSU has trailed at halftime thrice this season, and ND has struggled at home more than once already. That's the landscape.
Shame on us for losing to VT. We fucked up. But don't tell me FSU or ND are teams Ohio State should fear in January. I'm not buying it.

The pass would need to be caught behind the line of scrimmage (i.e. a screen) for it to not be a penalty.

The worst part of that whole mess was that the play would have scored had it simply been a tunnel screen. They had the OLB on the blitz.

Not a fan of ND, closet or otherwise, but a win for them tonight seemed like the best shot at getting FSU off the short list. I see a lot of you thought otherwise. Hopefully, it will work out for the best by the end of the season. But, pessimist that I am, I can't help thinking of the admonition "Be careful what you wish for."

Yup, I was thinking the same. The Irish are young, and they still have to play a good ASU team and a USC team in Southern Cal that still has talent despite being thin. There's a good chance they'll drop one of those, and could drop a head scratcher in November like they're prone to do. It's unlikely that FSU is getting knocked off, and an Irish loss hurts the B1G's SoS.
