2014 Week 4 CFB Open Thread

The mention of a video gave me hope there was material on this Dannatt fellow speaking in the 3rd person (haven't done that since basic training "this recruit") ... didn't find a video, but I'm sure you'll love to know he received one of those obligatory political awards when he retired as a Lt. Col w/10th Mountain

* Lt. Col. Martin J. Dannatt, 10th Mountain Division Special Troops Battalion, retires with more than 20 years of active-duty service. He served overseas in Korea and in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Dannatt will retire in Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

Yeah, he's some character. Nice guy, but odd as hell.

Prior to us going to Bosnia at the beginning of 97, he sent a bunch of letters to our families. I was on my way back to Omaha when he sent them. I got home and my stepmother was crying, happy to see me.

She thought that I had gotten hurt or something. She didn't even want to open the letter.

I got home and opened the letter. It says, "Your soldier is doing a wonderful job." (paraphrasing)

My step mother told me if she ever met Captain Martin J. Dannett, she'd kick his ass. This from a church going 5-nothing lady.

I think the last team to do so was Bill Snyder's first year as head coach in 1936. The kicker was good up until then, but the dehydration caused by the Dust Bowl really affected some of the players.

And you guys wonder WHY in the HELL I HATE the K-State Kitties.....

Kansas State switched up its offensive signals Thursday night because coach Bill Snyder believed Auburn was stealing signs.
"They're getting our signals," Snyder told ESPN sideline reporter Samantha Ponder, adding that the Wildcats changed up some of their signals during halftime.
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn denied any first-half advantage after the game, which the Tigers won 20-14.
"No, no," he said when asked if Auburn knew the signals.
Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher made the same claims against Auburn after January's BCS National Championship Game win, as the Seminoles reportedly used towels to block some of their signals.

So, what's the signal for "MISS FIELD GOAL"?
