2014 Week 4 CFB Open Thread

Josh, while we can certainly agree that mediocre teams have come in and done well, we can also agree that the SEC, as a whole, has also excelled for almost a decade.
And they have a remarkably impenetrable system. The ONLY voice in CFB has been pumping up their recruiting and success for over a decade and when their top teams get upset (like LSU), they slid mildly and the team that did the upsetting skyrockets in the polls, thus strengthening the league.

When other leagues lose it costs them dearly. When the SEC loses, it almost always results in the league being viewed as stronger in perception and ranking. It keeps happening and people just accept it and third place SEC teams playing for a national title.

The SEC has been the best conference by far, but that fact doesn't change the hyperbole, propaganda and circular/socialistic greatness that has played a huge role in keeping them dominant.

If teams from other conferences continue to win as FSU did, I have little concern about the media portrayal.
