2014 Week 2 B1G FB Open Thread

Yeah, I definitely agree. Just hoping our guys get it done, otherwise none of it matters.

On that note... Purdoesn't picks up a 1st down on 4th and 1 against Central *ichigan, which according to the announcers sparked some life into them.

Cough.

Maybe this goes in the "The Big Ten Needs to Get Their Asses On Track" thread (or whatever it's called), but this is why the Big Ten has the reputation it does. Or, one of the reasons. But when a team in the Big Ten - ANY team - bottom feeder or not - can't beat on a MAC team - ANY MAC team - perennial contender or not - the Big Ten is going to continue to have this reputation.

Seems like they are just giving McEvoy the starting role. Stave should be taking snaps in practice, taking a few snaps in games to get him comfortable and situated. It's the coaches job to help get his head right. If Stave doesn't want to play then he shouldn't be on the team.

Andersen and Stave have not speculated as to a possible trigger, but the most likely causes would be either the bowl injury or the pressure of fighting McEvoy for the job. “It's not a lack of preparation or anything like that,” he said. “It's just a matter of getting back to feeling comfortable and feeling like the ball's coming out the way it should.”

As of Tuesday, it didn’t sound like Stave or his coaches had any handle on how to deal with his predicament. “We've just got to get him back where he needs to be,” said Andersen. “I just am going to continue to prepare like I always have,” said Stave.
