2014 Week 2 B1G FB Open Thread

Ohio State is a special case. Any team that built an offense around a Heisman quality QB, graduated his backup, and lost him a few weeks before the season would surely be struggling early in the season.

That said, the performance of the B1G yesterday was shocking.

Lose football and you lose the cash cow. Right now, football is staring to look a lot like the MAC. Warning bells need to be ringing throughout B1G schools.

Little did I think that by week 2 I would say that Rutgers and Maryland seem to be a perfect fit for the Big Ten.

The only good thing you can say about Midwestern football is that Notre Dame looked good - and even that means that another Big Ten team sucks.

I'm wondering how many games a top MAC team would win in this league if they played everyone. I'd guess three possibly. NIU has consistently beat a big 10 team each year it seems. And that's with recruiting inferior talent. If they could sell being in the big 10 wow. Only god knows.

Being a fan of both, that isn't good for the big 10.

For the first time I'm on record as saying our conference IS second tier compared to the SEC, et al.

I think Rutgers and Maryland have brighter futures for the conference than Northwestern and Purdue.

*Unless you live on one of the coasts, south of the Mason-Dixon line, or in Bristol.
