2014 TSUN Shenanigans and Arguments

However, our guy came with a championship pedigree. There's does not.

Coaching in a Super Bowl requires you to win this:

While it's not a national championship or a world championship trophy - it does indicate you're one of the two top teams in the world that season.

I'm always amused by NFL champions being referred to as "world" champions. Only Canada plays anything remotely similar to the sport at a professional level. Most countries don't play it all.

Well, to be fair - the World Series doesn't include teams from the Dominican Republic or Japan, either

I also find that amusing, to a degree. The same with NBA "world" champions. But baseball & basketball are played in several countries around the world. American football is not.

Calling yourselves "world" champions in a sport virtually no one else plays sounds funny to me.

His salary is $3M/year more now than he was making in SF. He must be taking into account CA state taxes.

And only an arrogant m*ch*g*n man would consider that dump a lateral move from an NFL gig in one of the nicest places in the country. The simple fact is Hairball and the Niners management couldn't play nice. If they could, he would still be there, and scUM would be looking elsewhere. It's just a perfect storm for them, not unlike we had following tat gate when Urban came here. Just a serendipitous series of events.

Nah, as many of us suspected... that reported $8mil/yr figure was overblown (probably incentives)
He'll be making $5mil/yr base up there.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see how Sparty stays near the top of the B1G if/when Jim-Bo gets scUM back to relevance

One thing is for sure, the Ohio HS recruiting scene is about to heat up even more

They'll probably have a down year with Langford and Lippett graduating and Cook possibly leaving early. But Dantonio's successes have come largely from getting 3* kids that fit his system. I don't think that's going to change. 2-3 years of being an excellent team with a lot of experience followed by 1-2 years of rebuilding.

1. Harbaugh's already massive ego
2. being shamelessly fluffed by Michigan's AD
3. combined with massively unrealistic expectations
4. on top of the resentment between athletics and academics at UM within both the University itself and the alumni base
5. with Harbaugh being an insufferable prick
6. and NFL teams calling every off season.

How could anything possibly go wrong?

Cook already said he's staying. They are also losing Narduzzi and a few other defensive coaches.

Terrible hire. They should have kept Hoke or hired me.

Actually, it doesn't indicate that at all. It only indicates that you won a tournament that included six of the best (not necessarily the six best) NFC teams. Regarding the top two teams in the world, why couldn't both of them have been in the AFC that year?

While my view may not be seen favorably around here, I am ecstatic for TSUN to get "their guy" who I think is the best guy they could have gotten. The B1G really needs this, and I am beyond sick and tired of hearing the lesser educated part of the country spouting off at the mouth thumping their chests. Besides, if we want to be the best, we need to beat the best so I say bring it on. If PSU under Franklin can get back to being a top 10/15 program then I would reckon we'll be going toe to toe with the SEC West in 2-3 years for supremacy.
