I just don't see how a beautiful post such as this shouldn't be liked by everyone on BP.

Well, in fairness, his position coach is on record saying speed is overrated.I'm sure this has already been posted in one of the scum threads but I couldn't resist posting Devin Funchess's quote again: "We don't need a win next week. Wins and losses are a statistic."
That might be the most spectacularly idiotic quote I've ever heard. It's seriously awesome it's so dumb, especially considering it's coming from the best player and a presumed leader on a 2-4 team.
The Michigan football team hosts Penn State on Saturday night at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 in the first Big Ten night game in Michigan Stadium's 88-year history.
Complete Game Notes
* This week is the third night game at Michigan Stadium. U-M defeated Notre Dame in 2011 and 2013 while establishing new NCAA record attendance marks each time, including the current record of 115,109 set in last season’s 41-30 victory over the Fighting Irish.
* Michigan is 15-of-15 in the Red Zone this season and one of five teams in the nation perfect in Red Zone scoring opportunities. The Wolverines have scored a touchdown on 86.7 percent of their trips to the Red Zone (13-of-15), which ranks 1st in the Big Ten and 2nd in the NCAA behind Texas State’s 87.5 percent.
* U-M ranks 1st in the Big Ten and 2nd in the NCAA with an average of 3.33 penalties per game, and the Wolverines’ average of 31.17 penalty yards per game is 2nd in the conference and 5th in the country.
* The Wolverines rank 6th in the Big Ten and 19th in the NCAA in total defense, allowing an average of 315.5 yards per game. That total includes 100.2 yards of rushing defense, which ranks 4th in the conference and 12th in the nation, and an average of 215.3 yards of passing defense that is 3rd in the Big Ten and 38th in the country.
* U-M’s three rushing touchdowns allowed this season are tied for the 2nd-lowest total in the Big Ten and 12th lowest in the NCAA.
* Michigan is holding its opponents to an average of 2.93 yards per rush, which is tied for 3rd in the Big Ten and 15th in the NCAA. The Wolverines have held four of their six opponents to an average of 2.5 yards per carry or less. U-M kept Rutgers to an average of 2.5 yards on 30 carries, allowed Utah to rush for a 2.2 average on 37 carries, held Miami (Ohio) to an average of 1.38 yards per rush on 24 attempts and kept Notre Dame to a 1.74 average on 31 rushes.
* The Wolverines are 5th in the Big Ten and tied for 13th in the NCAA, allowing their opponents an average of 16.0 first downs per game.
* The U-M defense’s 39.0 tackles for loss ranks 5th in the Big Ten and tied for 17th in the NCAA and is the program’s highest total through the first six games of a season since registering 39.0 in 2009.
* The Wolverines have collected 26.0 tackles for loss in the last three games, the highest three-game total for a U-M defense since recording 28.0 in 2007 vs. Notre Dame, vs. Penn State and at Northwestern.
In case you thought they were struggling, the UM athletic department sent out this encouraging email at 11 AM
The sooner they fire hoke the sooner this all collapses on them. But that also allows them to make a big hire sooner and allow them more time to get a few pieces back in place. That said I fully expect the pizza man to cling to hoke for at least 4 more losses. From MGoBlog:
Yikes. If those are the only 4 that stick, they're looking at a class ranked somewhere between 60 and 70 even if they find last second replacements. A class like that can take years to get over.
That sucks. He'll get a redshirt though. He didn't actually play in 6 games. That was someone else in the 27 jersey.Derrick Green out for the year with a broken clavicle.

Let's not forget that Michigan has already lost four of the top recruits in the country:After Jerome Baker's flip I asked myself "shiznit, wouldn't it be great to check in and see how UM's class is doing?" So I did my due diligence and found some interesting things:
1) UM has 10 commitments with a a very high star rating. Impressive, right? Well yeah, but out of those 10, six (including their top five) commits' latest crystal balls on 247 show them flipping.
2) Brian Cole, their best commit, has taken a OV to Wisconsin and is trying to set up other visits. Prediction: flip to Wisconsin.
3) Chris Clark is looking at both UNC and USC, but will probably take all five visits. Prediction: anywhere but Michigan.
4) Garrett Taylor is visiting Ohio State and Penn State for sure and maybe Va Tech and Tennessee. He is the most intriguing prospect for us because OSU has a real chance at landing him. Prediction: flip to Ohio State.
5) Weber is interesting. His last three crystal balls show him flipping to USC, Michigan State, and Ohio State. All three schools are pursuing, but based on what Damian Harris does, I like either Sparty's or our chances at landing him. Prediction: flip to either MSU or Ohio State.
6) Darrin Kirkland Jr. is a great LB prospect and, IMO, their most important defensive commit. He will be taking all five visits. Prediction: flip to Notre Dame
7) Alex Malzone is their glue guy in this class. He and Penn State have mutual interest, but I see him sticking to UM and trying to solidify their class after Hoke is fired. If he decommits, though, all bets are off as all 10 commits could potentially look elsewhere. Prediction: UM
So right now, UM can probably only count on 4 or maybe 5 guys to stick around. If Malzone plus the four other lowest commits stick around, the rankings show that they will have 84.21 247 composite points... which puts them squarely between North Texas and Tulane as the 95th best class. Even granting them Marcus Lewis (who is trending to Miami), Tyrone Wheatly, and Grant Perry puts them at 65th in the country between Arkansas State and Marshall with 134.70 points. Either way, UM's class is beginning to reflect the state of their program: it is a dumpster fire bordering on a 3 alarm blaze.
