Painful as it might be, we need to pull for the weasels this weekend. I actually pull for every B1G team playing against non-conference foes, but it would be especially nice if tsun outscored the domers by at least a TD this weekend. The reason? Recruiting. We are battling ND for several huge recruits who will attend the game: Porter Gustin, Tommy Kraemer, Prince Sammons, Liam Eichenberg, Jake Hausmann, Ethan Tucky, Lavert Hill, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Michael Onwenu. Malik Henry as well, but he may already be a done deal to ND.
Now we don't want TSUN to look too good, because three of those kids are from Cass Tech. We want them to beat the domers in an uninspiring, hokish fashion...
It amazes me how ND picks up so many highly touted QB recruits despite being a perennial joke. I suppose it's partially b/c there's always 1 braindead NFL GM that buys the hype and pulls the trigger. They've sent a fair few QBs to the NFL, but they were all god awful once they were there -- to few people's surprise.
Anyway, on topic. I realize it's in the collective interest if scUM does well. I realize that helps Ohio State's playoff aspirations now and in the future every time a B10 school wins their OOC game.
But personally, I can't watch the game and root for them. In this case both schools are arrogant has-beens, so I'll enjoy seeing either of them lose. It's win-win whether they're 0-11 or 11-0 when the game kicks off... either I can bask in their complete and utter incompetence, or I can enjoy seeing their aspirations destroyed like 2006 again.
Have you lost your damn mind? You think I'm going to cheer for you guys this weekend vs VA Tech? I hope several big ten teams lose this week and would love to see Oregon just beat down Michigan St.
You're just angry because a middling ND is the best team you have a shot at beating this year.
